                        The use of libraries is changing rapidly and their
                        purpose is evolving. More mobile and collaborative
                        work patterns among students, faculty, and staff – and
                        their use of devices – create new needs. New access
                        paradigms, media, and sources require new services.
                        Innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and
                        research call for new kinds of support.

                        As libraries move from places to organize, store, and
                        retrieve information to places where you can also
                        create, share, refine, and display it, there must be
                        approaches to understanding, envisioning, and
                        planning for the needs of their users. Libraries must
                        plan space, support services, and technology in an
                        integrated way to meet and anticipate needs, even as
                        they change.
