2. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
The planning stages of all three of my media products were presented through the use Blogger. This allowed to
create a blog post about each individual stage of my planning and feedback section of the creation of my media
product. Uploading specific, stage by stage sections of my coursework with and endless amount of space meant that
I was able to provide a step by step process to my three production tasks. Blogger also means that I was able to
upload videos and slideshares I had created previously in order to show the different stages of planning my
production works but was also a way of presenting my final poster, magazine cover and trailer in a simple, clear and
easy way. Having a separate blog post for each task, whether it was my survey, results analysis or my sound ideas,
enabled my work to be presented in a clear and ordered way.

3. SlideShare
Also, the use of slideshare allowed me to present powerpoint and share them on my blog in an easy and simple
way. Slideshare was the easiest way in which I could post a powerpoint I had made previously and upload it onto my
blog enabling people to view my powerpoint. Slideshare allows people to share different knowledge online for
others to seek help on different subjects. Slideshare, founded in May 2012 allows people to export and share
presentations, infographics, documents, videos, PDFs, and webinars. This allowed me personally to share different
documents that i had created and put them on my blog. It is a quick and simple way of uploading different tasks to
my blog and allows a presentation to be clearly visible for audiences. Using Slideshare also meant that i was able to
search for specific information that I did not already know and learn from others Knowledge from work they has
uploaded onto Slideshare. Slideshare was easy to set up and upload to and was a quick process during the
coursework tasks.

4. Using iMovie for our trailer was a simple app that allowed us to create the trailer the we wished, being able to add sounds, effects
and different cuts of shots into the overall piece of work. iMovie also allowed us to create inter titles and we were then able to
add our own made sound effects over the top of our backing tracks straightforwardly. We were then able to export the movie in a
file that made it accessible to be viewed on different computers and softwares. Cropping clips and editing them to make speed
them up or make them slow-motion was also an easy task on imovie. We were able to convert each clips in order to change the
speed of the motion which made the trailer more effective.

5. Photoshop
Photoshop was the main programme used when creating my media
products. This software allowed me to edit images, cut different
sections of images out and add text to my products. Photoshop allowed
me to create a poster and a magazine cover to the best standard and to
the most real media product. Using photoshop, i was able to cut out
images, edit images, backgrounds and typography in order to produce a
realistic movie poster and magazine cover. The process of using
photoshop was at first a long process considering the cropping of
specific images using both the magic wand and the magnetic lassoo
tool. Both these tools enabled me to remove backgrounds of certain
images in order to make both products look of a better standard
following the codes and conventions of a film poster and a film
magazine. This programme then became easier for me to use and once
i got used to it, i was able to use it to its full extent. I was able to create
different layers each with different effects, for example when creating
the fading effect down the right hand side of Tia’s face on my movie
poster.
6. Nikon D300
The camera in which we used in order to make our trailer was a Nikon D300 which allowed
our filming to be a HD piece of work. The camera also meant we could use a tripod in order
to make sure our shots were steady and also a microphone which we could attach to the top
of the camera allowing the diegetic sound and dialogue during the scenes to be heard well
and clearly. This camera was a key feature in terms of the technology we used during the
process as without it we would have had to film on an iPhone or a lower quality camera. This
would have consequently affected the work we produced and the scenes in the trailer as it
could have been blurry and less advanced. This camera was also used during our
photoshoots for both magazine and film poster. This again allowed the images to be of the
best quality they could be with the high tech camera and the lens which was protected well.
We were also able to add another zoom onto the camera which allowed closer shots to be
taken but still at a good quality .
