1. ASSURE METHOD
A – Analyze Learners: Begin by assessing the current knowledge of the 8th
grade geography classes which have a predominantly male student base. There
are a number of students who exhibit signs of ADHD with frequent outbursts.
S – State Objective:
A) Predominantly male student base with a number who
demonstrate signs of ADHD
B) The students will identify States, Capitals, Regions, Time Zones,
and Physical Geography Regions.
C) Through the use of video, audio, online interactive games,
research, social media, blogs, written text and visual aids.
D) 100% accuracy by the end of the unit.
S – Select Methods, Media, and Materials: Use of video, audio, visual aids,
written text, online games, blogs, and social media
U – Utilize Media and Materials: Prepare by reading and/or viewing material, to
ensure links and audio work properly.
R – Require Learner Participation: Promote classroom interaction through
discuss and question sessions. Promote student and family involvement though
group activity.
E – Evaluate and Revise: Asses students by random questioning during in class
activities and group discussions to determine what methods, media, and material
are most efficient, did the students retain the knowledge, where they motivated,
where they actively engaged in the lessons and activities.
