3. Abstract The current presentation describes the program of conservation of the surface on the monuments of Acropolis. Additionally, the methodology for the conservation of monuments is presented, aiming at revealing of decay mechanisms, as well as design and amelioration of conservation techniques and materials. The factors (environmental, mechanical, anthropogenic) which cause decay are analysed and characteristic examples are given (acid rain, suspended particles, biological corrosion, mechanical and thermal decay). Conservation interventions are presented and characteristic examples are given of systematic and saving interventions. Finally, the educational programs are presented, which are organised by YSMA Acropolis Restoration Service.
