Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no
possibility of cheating. It is either good or bad.

2. About Me
I am an Informal Artist..
I am not a formally trained artist. I have never taken any
coursework in drawing or had any person to teach me how to
draw.
I create artwork from imagination, from observation, and
from memory. I teach myself how to draw by using free online
materials available on the web, by studying images that I
see in my environment , and then trying to draw these images.
I can draw the following-People, Homes and Apartments floor
plans and interiors, Furniture, Clothing, logos, and facial
expressions.
I enjoy drawing people. The image in upper right corner is an
example of this. I like drawing realistic looking
individuals and drawing dwelling places using Sketchup.
Currently, I am interested in learning how to add personality
to and animate my characters by using facial expressions and
body language. Also, I am learning how to draw body parts and
make my characters move using computer programming
languages.
I hope you enjoy my art-work!

The following slides of people were drawn while developing a website. The purpose of the website, which was first called,
A Step to the Top, was to provide links to free online courses and tutorials that an individuals can use to develop job-related
or career-skills. I picked the name of the site because it represents what the person is doing when he or she chooses to
improve their skills-they take a step closer to the top level of success.
I changed the name of the site to Proficiency Margin. I formed the word from the definitions of Proficient and Profit Margin.
Proficient means to be advanced, able, accomplished, and have competency in a subject area. It means to be a skilled
expert. Proficiency means "advancement in knowledge or skill“. Profit Margin, a Financial Term, is a ratio of profitability. It
is revenue a company gets to keep after paying its expenses. Proficiency Margin means provides you with the resources
you need to develop profitable skills.
To develop the site, I came up with a theme. I developed an imaginary company called Proficiency Margin and developed a
staff for it. The staff represented fictional characters who do what I do for the site-find free online resources with
educational values, evaluate them, and then publish it on the site. Also, the staff is responsible for designing, writing the
text on the website, maintaining the site, and also for responding to contacts from the public. Finally, the staff is responsible
for managing the bookstore that I created on the site using Amazon Astore program.
In addition to this, I created a fictional city for the office to be located at. The drawings in the cities and buildings,
transportation (bus & cars), and interiors are part of the city where the company is located. Also, I needed to develop office
The following slides contain the images that were created for the site using Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Draw:
People: 4,5,6,7,23
Cities: 18
Furniture: 21
Transportation: 22
Logos & Business Cards: 26
In the end, I decided to not use the fictional company for the website and chose to not use the images.

I wanted to study how to produce different facial expressions using eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. To do this, I
changed the shape, size, and position of these features to attempt to produce different expressions.
The first slide, “Futuristic People”, is an attempt to do this and produce Science-fiction like characters. To do this,
I drew blue images and changed eyebrows, eye-shapes, and smiles to learn how to portray the emotions of
sadness, anger, grief, and disinterest. In addition to this, I wanted to learn how to make Sci-fi like characters and
what goes into making this type of character. I was not very creative in doing this but I did enjoy the thought
process involved in trying to do this. I decided to draw circles on the faces of my Blue Characters. These circles
represent cultural markings for their group. The males have theirs in a horizontal line on the right cheek and the
women have their circles in an arc in the right side of the cheek. The other two images(brown) represent a male
and female from a fictional tribe that I would like to someday use in a cartoon for a fable I considered writing a
while ago.
The next slide, “Eyes”, focuses only on the eyes. It’s a study on how eyes affect interpretation of a person’s
emotions.
The final slide, “Can you guess who had a bad day at the office?”, is also a study on how facial features and
changing the head position can be used to convey different emotions in drawings. It’s also an attempt to create
older characters using wrinkles and fine lines.
If you would like to tell me what the facial expressions says to you about the drawings, you can do so at this site

person’s facial expression. All eyes are looking at the yellow ball. What does the face say to you? Use

SnackSleuth is a website I designed while learning website layout methods, how to create full-window websites, and
CSS opacity. The site allows a user to find the nutritional values of items on a menu, such as a Hamburger meal. The
components of the meal are decomposed into it's ingredients. Images of each individual ingredient is placed on the
screen. When the visitor clicks the image, a table pops up that shows the visitor the calories, fat, sodium, and other
nutritional data. Client-side scripting was used to create this table and CSS was used to convert the image on the left
to that on the right.

Notas do Editor
I created a website called Proficiency Margin. The website provides free educational resources available online to visitors of the site. As part of the site, I wanted to create a fictional staff to represent the fictional company behind the site. It’s a Cartoon-like company that provides real-life resources for real human beings that visit the site. I created some fictional staff members to be part of the website. The images on this and the next slide represent some of the Characters I created for the site to add more personality and life to the site. The other images represent drawings I created while teaching myself to draw on the computer.
I like drawing ethnic looking characters. However, the above drawings were not created to teach myself how to do this. This and the next slide were drawn while studying how to draw feet, shoes, and clothing.
I wanted to learn how different eye positions and eye-brow positions affect emotions.
I wanted to learn how different facial features affect the emotions portrayed on a person’s face. To do this, I drew blue images and changed eyebrows, eyes-shapes, and smiles to learn how to portray the emotions of sadness, anger, grief, and disinterest. In addition to this, I wanted to learn how to make Sci-fi like characters and what goes into making this type of character. I was not very creative in doing this but I did enjoy the thought process involved in trying to do this. I decided to draw circles on the faces of my Blue Characters. These circles represent cultural markings for their group. The males have theirs in a horizontal line on the right cheek and the women have their circles in an arc in the right side of the cheek. The other two images(brown) represent a male and female from a fictional tribe that I would like to someday use in a cartoon of stories/fables.
I drew these images from a profile view (side view) and changed the eyeball position and size to see how it affects the interpretation of the person’s facial expression.
1.Draw different faces and how face shape/size changes a face, and how changing the position of head affects conveyance of emotion. 2.Eye position, Eyebrow Position, and Emotions
1. Studying Color Theory, Symmetry, and using Grids to create webpage layouts.

I decided to learn how to draw a human face and nose. The above are what I drew after reading an article online on this subject. The images are not Portraits. They do not represent real people and were drawn strictly from imagination.
