Presentation (me and contents)This presentation is an effort for thinking about the ability of organizations, social groups and people for adapting to new contexts where sustainability is a new part of the dynamics, discourses and claims of policy and market. I will describe some points of the transformation process that Colombian Coffee Growers Federation has developed for reinvent and re-define itself in the frame of sustainability. In this process, particular tensions are coproduced between the “traditional” and the “techno-science”. Sustainability has become the framework for reading Coffee growing as a business, the role of Research and Development regarding coffee production, and political and social role of federation in the country.
