This document contains 12 sections summarizing the story of Peter's imprisonment and miraculous escape from prison through the intervention of an angel as recounted in Acts 12. Key details include: Peter was imprisoned and guarded by 16 soldiers intending to be brought out after Easter to the people; the church prayed fervently for Peter; an angel appeared and woke Peter, loosening his chains and guiding him out past the guards though he thought it was a vision; when outside he realized God had delivered him from Herod.

2. After Saul was saved and was sent to Tarsus
for his own safety, we find this verse:
Acts 9:31 (TLB) Meanwhile, the church had peace
throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria, and grew
in strength and numbers. The believers learned
how to walk in the fear of the Lord and in the
comfort of the Holy Spirit.

3. Acts 12 1 Now about that
time Herod the king
stretched forth his hands to
vex certain of the church. 2
And he killed James the
brother of John with the
sword. 3 And because he saw
it pleased the Jews, he
proceeded further to take
Peter also. (Then were the
days of unleavened bread.)
3
4. 4 And when Herod had
apprehended Peter, he put him
in prison, and delivered him to
four quarternions (16) of
soldiers to keep him; intending
after Easter to bring him forth
to the people.

5. 5 Petertherefore was kept in prison: but prayer
was made without ceasing of the church unto God
for him.
When God's children
pray, God changes things!

6. Isaiah 59 1 Behold, the Lord's Hand is not short-
ened, that it cannot save; neither His Ear heavy, that
it cannot hear:
1 John 5 14-15 And this is the confidence that we
have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to
His Will, He heareth us: And if we know that He
hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we desired of Him.

7. 6 And when Herod would
have brought him
forth, the same night
Peter was sleeping
between two
soldiers, bound with two
chains: and the keepers
before the door kept the
prison.
7
8. 7 And, behold, the angel of the
Lord came upon him, and a light
shined in the prison: and the angel
smote Peter on the side, and raised
him up, saying, Arise up quickly.
And his chains fell off from his
hands. 8 And the angel said unto
him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy
sandals. And so he did. And he
saith unto him, Cast thy garment
about thee, and follow me.
8
9. 9 And he went out, and followed
him; and wist not that it was true
which was done by the angel;
but thought he saw a vision. 10
When they were past the first
and the second ward, they came
unto the iron gate that leadeth
unto the city; which opened to
them of his own accord: and they
went out, and passed on through
one street; and forthwith the
angel departed from him.
9
10. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he
said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath
sent His angel, and hath delivered me out of the
hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the
people of the Jews.
Until this moment, Peter was not certain that
he would live and be delivered.
Even when he saw the angel and was walking
out, he thought it might be just a dream.

11. We sometimes have to wait on God to move,
and sometimes when we are waiting,
Our faith wavers.
But God is not looking for an excuse
to let us down.
God is looking for an opportunity to bless us.
11
12. Just as Peter didn't know if God was going to save
his life and deliver him from prison,
We don't always know God's Plan in a situation.
When God's people
pray, God changes things.
Keep on praying, even if your faith is weak.
God delivered Peter, and God loves you as much.
