4. Differences
The movie lacked many of the minor characters in the
book
Old Major dies while giving his speech in the movie.
In the book a few days pass between his speech and
death
In the book Napoleon is presented very indirectly as a
evil character. The movie does it in your face, with
villain music and a mean look
Rather than the animals speaking, as it was in the
book, a narrator tells most of they story in the movie
Ending: In the book, The pigs rule unfairly over the
other animals and have begun acting like the humans
they revolved against. In the movie, the other animals
overthrow the pigs.
5. Final Thoughts
As usual, the book is better than the movie
The lack of details takes away from the movie
Characters and their development makes a book
great and the movie took a lot of this out
The movie ending might seem better, but it that
too takes away from what the book was trying to
say about power
There is another adaption of Animal Farm(1999)
but we deemed it inferior to the to 1954 version
Though the movie wasn’t as good as the book, it
still is faithful adaption to the book and its
message about power, except for the ending
