1. Geometric Shapes Learning Center
Deborah Thonus
This PowerPoint is designed to be used as a learning center. Students will
see video clips of different shapes found in the world around them. They
will also see how shapes are combined and subdivided. There are 2
opportunities for informal assessment. This PowerPoint learning center
also contains instructions for follow-up projects so students may perform
their understanding in new problems and in tangible ways. To provide
multiple entry points to the content, students will have choices with a
variety of products and the video clips they watch.
2. Geometric Shapes

highlighted in red. Take notes and/or draw illustrations in your
geometry journal. Click here for the Menu.
2. Watch at least 2 more video clips from the Menu marked in
green. Click here for the Menu.
3. Check your geometric shape knowledge by taking a quiz, links
highlighted in blue. Take the What Am I? quiz or you may also
visit the The Whaddaya Know Quiz Show link to play an
interactive game from Discovery.
4. Choose your project from the Project List, highlighted in purple.
5. You will have one week to complete your project. Check with me
before you begin to make sure you understand your task. You
may use your math book and glossary for your project.
