History
1999 – 1st Intake (First Curriculum)
2008 – 7th Intake (Fourth Curriculum)
Joint venture:
UTM and MARA (Full Time) – 7th intake
Aim: To produce Technopreneurs that are visionary,
highly competent in developing innovative ICT
products and services as well as driving a
sustainable global business


Target Audience:
For Full Time Programme: Bumiputera fresh
graduates, working professionals and existing
technopreneurs
Duration: Expected duration is 1.5 years, 3
regular semesters + 1 short semester
Credits: 40 credit hours in total
Course Enrollments:
Full Time – classes on weekdays conducted at
Kompleks Usahawan Teknologi MARA,
Technovation Park, UTM Skudai

Current Technopreneurs: Cohort 6 – 10 person,
Cohort 7 – 12 person
Teaching Mode: Lectures, Product and Business
Incubation, and Business Coaching
Exit Points: Must complete 40 credits & obtain
academic grade of minimum 3.0 CGPA. MARA
requirement for graduation– successfully
participated the 3 modules of LPU within the
duration of study.
Prospects: Graduate of the SKIT programme
should be able to become IT technopreneurs and
start a new IT based business venture upon (prior
to) graduation.

These product/ services can be from any IT/
computer science disciplines (eg. Graphics and
multimedia, artificial intelligence, hardware,
bioinformatics, etc) which runs on different type
of technology and platform (eg. Internet based,
mobile technologies, RFID, SMS, etc) and serve a
wide range of customers.

Practicum/ Mentoring Programs
Undergo extensive hands-on technology and business
incubation program to facilitate development of their
prototype and managing their new business
Participation at relevant talks, clinics, networking
events, competitions and visits
Self-sourcing for a business mentor to work with
Semester 1: Mentor identification and scouting
