Food changes
1. Food Changes = Body Changes
The foods we eat provide the necessary nutrients to the body. These nutrients
enable the cells in the body to function, and are essential for growth and good
health. The adage, “You are what you eat,” is a perfect way to describe the
relationship between food and health.
A poor diet and the wrong foods can result in a variety of degenerative diseases:
obesity, mainly, but also:
Lack of nutrition that affects the functioning of the digestive system.
High intake of toxins that poison the body’s immune system as well as
other organs and systems.
Malfunction of the body’s elimination systems, leading to wastes
accumulating in the body.
Lethargy and a general ”heaviness” that cause an unhappy emotional state.
Hormonal imbalances, leading to mental and emotional issues such as
depression, behavioral disorders, etc.
Consuming unhealthy foods leads to over 85% of the life-threatening diseases.
Foods that contain hydrogenated oils cause heart disease and nervous system
disorders. Sodium nitrate, found in most of the processed meat products, is the
main cause of pancreatic and colon cancers. Saturated fats found in meat
products, butter, cheese, whole milk, and junk food tend to raise the cholesterol
levels and increase the risk of heart disease. Junk foods like chips, cheeseburgers,
fries, candies, and soft drinks don’t have any nutritional value, and their empty
calories can lead to obesity and diabetes.
2. The answer to healthier eating starts with understanding food substitutions.
Simply swap unhealthy foods for smarter (and healthier) food choices!
Replace saturated fat foods with unsaturated fat foods like olive oil, plant
foods, and fish.
Brown sugar, white sugar, cane juice, jams, candies, and corn syrups that
are sticky in nature are very dangerous for your teeth. Replace these
sweeteners with honey or agave.
Caffeine is a strong addiction with many side effects, including palpitations,
anxiety attacks, and high blood pressure. Caffeine also has many withdrawal
effects. Energy drinks claiming to be very healthy consist of large doses of
caffeine and sugar that are healthy. Avoid caffeine or herbal versions
containing caffeine-related products.
Eat more raw fruits and vegetables. Choose organically grown produce for
maximum nutrients and minimal toxins.
Reduce your intake of animal proteins. Ideally, your diet should consist of
plant-based proteins such as those found in legumes. However, should you
desire animal protein in your diet, eat grass-fed, organic meats, and have no
more than 2-3 animal protein meals per week.
Your body is a remarkable machine. What you leave out is as important as what
you put in. The body’s self-healing properties are contingent on nutrients and its
ability to expel toxins.
