Remember-all those years ago when we started utilizing the period LBD in research to a dark dress
we cherished to use? Before then it was just "my dark dress". Still meant the same factor. Like I can
remember whatever we want to call, it has been around for as long. My mum had a summer one plus
a winter one (circa 1975) and constantly looked remarkable whenever she placed on her "Black
Summer Dress" or "Black Winter Dress". And I remember my first. It was a little stretchy and boy
and slinky did I believe I rocked this number! (circa 1990). Then my 2nd favourite one was
purchased approximately ten years later but unfortuitously it was used just once. What had
occurred? Properly, apart from dearth of events to wear it to (since it might have been worn
anywhere which is only a justification really), the other factor was pregnancy. I'd dropped my selfconfidence to wear it. I don't understand why, because it was really flattering. It certainly wasn't the
dress' problem. It was me and my insufficient need to present myself off and become fabulous. I
must note that both dresses referred to above failed to venture out of "fashion" during that whole
time. This is one of the many advantages of the LBD.
I recently purchased my third favourite LBD from Classic Charm and I enjoy it! I am a bit older and
smarter and have ultimately accepted that right now I am the shape that I am and awaiting that
shape to alter (i.e. because of workout and diet - ha!) Is only wasting precious dress sporting time.
As I have approached middle age and search behind to view the "best years" I now figure that the
years forward have got to be better. I've got a list of how I will achieve that, but when it comes to
outfitting and design myself, it indicates accepting how I appear because it really is not too poor,
being practical and wearing clothes that flatter me based on my body-shape NOT my size, not
starving myself of an attractive piece of clothing because of some unreasonable self-consciousness
and last but not least, I will stop purchasing "good" clothes for those "special occasions" that merely
never appear to come and start buying good clothes that I may wear every day, whenever I need,
wherever I need.
So back towards the LBD. My tip to all-women over 40 is there should be one or more LBD inside
your wardrobe. And it doesn't need to be little. I believe LBD has developed into "elegant black dress
which makes you feel amazing". What would that be? EBDTMYFA.... No, LBD is okay thanks.
Whether it be sleeveless, with sleeves, mini, knee duration, high throat, low neck...doesn't matter.
So extended since it is that dress you flip to when you want to sense elegant using the selfconfidence that you may.
