Following the success of the Second Continual Improvement Symposium which was held on
11th November 2010, the Continual Improvement (CI) Subgroup of DQG is pleased to
announce the third and enhanced edition of the annual event titled “3rd Continual
Improvement Symposium” on 17th November 2011 on the occasion of the World Quality
Day.
The Third Symposium will include the following four Live Competitions:
1. Kaizen – Using methodologies such as 5S, Visual management, Improvements by
Quality Circles/small teams using 7 QC tools.
2. Breakthrough Process Improvement – Using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean,
and Business Process Reengineering.
3. Innovation – Innovation in products, processes, business models using creativity
and systematic innovation methodologies (TRIZ, creativity techniques)
4. Quality Quiz Competition – Covering body of knowledge related to Total Quality
Management, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, Innovation, Business Excellence,
Management System Standards etc.
Teams from the organizations in various industry sectors (banking and finance, education,
healthcare, manufacturing, oil & gas, government & public services, IT, hospitality,
construction & projects, etc.) from UAE as well GCC and other regions will participate in the
abovementioned Live Competitions, which will present a great learning opportunity to the
audience, and all participants.
The presenters will be asked probing questions by the panels of judges and audience.
Winners will be decided based on the presentations by the contestants, as well as their
performance during the Q&A session.
To provide added value, the executive committee plans to include speeches by prominent
keynote speakers who will share their knowledge and experience in leading improvement
and innovation.
