3. Applications: Pag. 3 This press mod. “BG 350 Shuttle” has been designed, engineered and manufactured for various applications for the automotive component production. By using different moulds the press can produce: - thermal-acoustical insulating panels for the engine area - thermal-acoustical insulating panels for the driver cokpit - thermoformed panels for the interior of the car (door; overhead system; dash board; flooring trunk trim) Thanks to an high experienced team of Engineers, ITALPRESSE may customize any kind of presses for any kind of product.
7. Prismatic guides The upper mobile platen is fully guided by 4 prismatic adjustable and lubricated guides. This grants the most precise parallelism between the upper and the lower platens Pag. 7
8. Shuttling in/out of the lower platen The lower platen is provided with a shuttle system to ease various operations such as: - substitution, cleaning and check of the moulds - unloading of the pressed panels Pag. 8
9. Pag. 9 Video for the horizontal shuttling of the lower platen
10. Sliding shoe for the horizontal shuttling of the lower platen Sliding shoe complete with hydraulic cylinder and guides to lift the lower platen. On the upper part of the sliding shoe, you may see the cooling system engineered to avoid any thermal expansion due to the higher temperatures reached by the lower platen (up to 250 °C - 482 °F). The cooling system is provided with cooling liquid in a closed circuit. Pag. 10
11. Centering and locking of the lower platen Centering and locking bracket for the lower platen for a precise posittioning inside the press. The bracket is activated and controlled by an hydraulic system. Complete with: A) Centering and sliding bronze guides B) Centering bracket made by a special hardened steel with a dovetail shape. Pag. 11 B A
13. Video of the centering and locking of the lower platen Pag. 13
14. Tilting upper platen Thanks to two hydraulic cylinders, the top platen that holds the upper mould can tilt down 90° to a vertical positioning. This tilting allows an easy cleaning of the upper mould. Pag. 14
16. Hydraulic cylinder completely extended for the rotation 90° of the upper platen. Thanks to these hinges the upper platen can rotate 90° to ease the cleaning of the upper mould. These hinges are bolted both to the upper bolster than to the upper platen. Tilting upper platen Pag. 16
18. Pins for the locking of the top bolster Four hydraulic controlled pins lock the top bolster to allow the 90° tilting of the top platen with the upper mould mounted on it. These pins engage prior and during the tilting phase of the upper platen to prevent any movement of the top bolster. Pag. 18
