In 1859, Diebold was founded as a manufacturer of safes . In just ten years, the Company established its reputation as a quality safe manufacturer and held the patents on 67 different safe designs. By 1915, we began the industry’s first nationwide service organization – today we have over 4,000 Diebold technicians in the U.S, and worldwide. By the mid-1960s, we became a publicly traded company and began creating new solutions. We introduced the first computerized financial branch alarm monitoring system in the early 70’s. At that time, we also entered the market with an Automated Teller Machine - the ATM. Since then, Diebold has continued to deliver innovative solutions to the market. Our Event Monitoring Center, a 24:7 central station, is award winning. Our global presence continues to increase. Our technology continues to advance into biometrics and logical security. And our solutions have become more integrated for better security and more efficient operations.
