10. Case Study
TES implemented new line layouts, workload leveling and standardized work to
increase productivity and throughput at Eclipse Aviation to help improve order to
delivery for their customers.
A list of 42 high impact suppliers were analyzed in six weeks and TES engaged with
key suppliers to break constraints and improve throughput
TES developed a line simulation, accounting for the measured variability and then
developed an optimal layout solution
Eclipse was able to increase throughput from 1 aircraft every 54 days to 1.5
aircraft per day, despite supplier shortages
“Tactical did outstanding work at Eclipse and we’re grateful for the hard work and great results.”
- Todd Fierro - VP of Manufacturing
11. Case Study
TES rebalanced the production and sub-assembly areas, integrated a complete
warehouse management and MRP system to their existing ERP system.
The main production line was rebalanced resulting in an increase in capacity of
approximately 35% with only a 5% increase in operator requirements.
Integrated a warehouse management system utilizing WIFI bar code scanners,
increasing inventory accuracy from 83% to almost 96%, reducing time to record
serial and lot number and decreasing the headcount in the warehouse by 20%.
Implemented an MRP system allowing for a decrease in raw material and work in
process inventory of over $7 million.
12. Case Study
Utilizing Land Rover’s “Lean Master Class” process the Defender team and TES
developed and implemented productivity improvements
Defender built 12 months of volume in a 9 month period
Achieved a 540 line rate – the highest volume ever produced on a single shift
Body Shop achieved a 50% reduction in scrap
13. Case Study
Leading Manufacturer of Construction and Mining Equipment
TES implemented the Quality Mapping Process driving over 300 quality concerns
back to the base operations for permanent corrective actions
Results improved First Time Through, increased productivity by almost 30% and
enabled substantial cost reductions
