Concept is a pattern book, teaching animals and counting by patterns. Pre Reading: I will have a collection of stuffed animals representing each of the animals in the story to show the students. I will ask the students to identify each animal, and ask them if they have seen any of these animals and where they were. Reading: We will read the book several times, first focusing on the pictures, then having the students participate in the pattern, then also adding motions. Post Reading: After reading the book, as a class we would think of another animal, decide where in the meadow it would live, and what it would do. We would then put it to the rhythm of the story and make our own page in the book. I would have the students draw the pictures for our page.
