Like all database management systems, PostgreSQL requires additional enterprise tools and capabilities to ensure high availability at scale. These include additional tools for backup, disaster recovery, replication, monitoring and data migration. To meet these needs, EnterpriseDB created the EDB Postgres Platform. This document explains the key differences between PostgreSQL using the EDB Postgres Platform compared to self-supported PostgreSQL alone.

Organizations have tried a variety of solutions to regain control of their data storage infrastructure. They’ve invested in monolithic storage systems, software defined storage (SDS) and hyper-converged systems. While each approach may have brought some value, each failed in its primary task: consolidating storage resources. Each of these consolidation efforts is unable to consistently guarantee performance, scale capacity and drive down storage costs. As a result, most organizations end up buying workload specific solutions for both legacy and modern applications. Most data centers today have a mixture of multiple all-flash storage systems, hyper-converged environments and high capacity data archives. They also have storage software for each use case. IT ends up dealing with a data management nightmare, which limits organizational efficiency and productivity. Don’t give up! Join Storage Switzerland and Datera to learn how monolithic, software defined and hyper-converged architectures have let IT down and why the problem gets worse as data centers modernize. Attendees will learn how storage solutions need to change in order to eliminate primary storage silos while guaranteeing specific application performance, scaling to meet capacity demands and lower storage TCO.

Speedment SQL Reflector is a software solution that allows applications to get automatically updated data in real time. The SQL Reflector loads data from your existing SQL database and feeds it into an in-memory data grid e.g. GridGain. When started, the SQL reflector will load your selected existing relational data into your map cluster. Also, any subsequent changes that are made to the relational database (regardless how, via your application, script, SQL commands or even stored procedures) are then continuously fed to your GridGain nodes. Even SQL-transactions are preserved so that your maps will always reflect a valid state of the underlying SQL database.

Two complementary trends are particularly strong in enterprise IT today: MongoDB itself, and the movement of infrastructure, platform, and software to as-a-service models. Being designed from the start to work in cloud deployments, MongoDB is a natural fit. Learn how your enterprise can create its own MongoDB service offering, combining the advantages of MongoDB and cloud for agile, nearly-instantaneous deployments. Ease your operations workload by centralizing your points for enforcement, standardize best policies, and enable elastic scalability. We will provide you with an enterprise planning outline which incorporates needs and value for stakeholders across operations, development, and business. We will cover accounting, chargeback integration, and quantification of benefits to the enterprise (such as standardizing best practices, creating elastic architecture, and reducing database maintenance costs).

Much industry focus is on All-Flash Arrays with traditional databases, but new databases using native direct-attached Flash have proven reliable, performant, and popular for operational use cases. Today, these operational databases store account information for banking and retail applications, real-time routing information for telecoms, and user profiles for advertising; they also support machine learning for applications in the financial industry, such as fraud detection. While proprietary PCIe and “wide SATA” had previously been popular, NVMe has finally come into operational use. Aerospike will discuss the benefits of NVMe for these use cases (including specific configurations and performance numbers), as well as the architectural implications of low-latency Flash and Storage Class Memory.

Financial industry companies need Java EE to power for its business today. Rakuten Card, one of the largest credit card companies in Japan, adopted Java EE 7 for its credit card core systems architecture, from one of the oldest COBOL based mainframe in Japan. Additionally, we chose Apache Spark for super rapid batch execution platform. We completed this big core system migration project successfully. You can learn why we choose Java EE, and Apache Spark for super rapid batch execution, and our experiences and lessons we learned. How to start such a the big project? Why we choose it, how we ported, how use Apache Spark for performance improvements, and launched with? We’ll answer these questions and any that you may have. Additionally, we are going to unveil our future roadmap for expanding our systems as well, with the cutting edge technology and standards.

Data analytics, Spark, Hadoop and AI have become fundamental tools to drive digital transformation. A critical challenge is moving from isolated experiments to an organizational or enterprise production infrastructure. In this talk, we break apart the modern data analytics workflow to focus on the data challenges across different phases of the analytics and AI life cycle. By presenting a unified approach to data storage for AI and Analytics, organizations can reduce costs, modernize their data strategy and build a sustainable enterprise data lake. By anticipating how Hadoop, Spark, Tensorflow, Caffe and traditional analytics like SAS, HPC can share data, IT departments and data science practitioners can not only co-exist, but speed time to insight. We will present the tangible benefits of a Reference Architecture using real-world installations that span proprietary and open-source frameworks. Using intelligent software-defined shared storage, users are able to eliminate silos, reduce multiple data copies, and improve time to insight.PALLAVI GALGALI, Offering Manager,IBM and DOUGLAS O'FLAHERTY, Portfolio Product Manager, IBM

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry. Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/why-teams-call-analytics-is-critical-to-your-entire-business Nothing is as frustrating and noticeable as being in an important call and being unable to see or hear the other person. Not surprising then, that issues with Teams calls are among the most common problems users call their helpdesk for. Having in depth insight into everything relevant going on at the user’s device, local network, ISP and Microsoft itself during the call is crucial for good Microsoft Teams Call quality support. To ensure a quick and adequate solution and to ensure your users get the most out of their Microsoft 365. But did you know that ‘bad calls’ are also an excellent indicator of other problems arising? Precisely because it is so noticeable!? Like the canary in the mine, bad calls can be early indicators of problems. Problems that might otherwise not have been noticed for a while but can have a big impact on productivity and satisfaction. Join this session by Christoph Adler to learn how true Microsoft Teams call quality analytics helped other organizations troubleshoot bad calls and identify and fix problems that impacted Teams calls or the use of Microsoft365 in general. See what it can do to keep your users happy and productive! In this session we will cover - Why CQD data alone is not enough to troubleshoot call problems - The importance of attributing call problems to the right call participant - What call quality analytics can do to help you quickly find, fix-, and prevent problems - Why having retrospective detailed insights matters - Real life examples of how others have used Microsoft Teams call quality monitoring to problem shoot problems with their ISP, network, device health and more.
