60. COPPA
COPPA restricts the online collection of personal
information from children under 13 years of age in
advance of parent consent. It applies to US
companies or to US citizens, but in effect, applies
globally. It details what a website (or any online
service) operator must include in a privacy
policy, when and how to seek verifiable consent
from a parent or guardian, and what responsibilities
an operator has to protect children's privacy and
safety online. This includes restrictions on
marketing to children under 13
