1. If you're like many people in the Internet marketing
community, you have probably spent a couple of years
online searching for that perfect home business income
opportunity. Every now and then, you find a particular
business model that piques your interest, and you decide
to yourself that you're going to stick with this plan for the
long-term. Of course, you inevitably end up abandoning
that business model as soon as another shiny object
shows up on your radar. After giving a halfhearted effort
for a couple of weeks, you begin to doubt your business
model entirely as soon as you stumble onto another sales
page or receive another e-mail from an Internet marketing
guru.
2. Now, let me ask you a very important question. How
exactly do you expect to make any progress if you're
constantly jumping from one home business income
opportunity to the next? You have to learn to focus and
put in significant time and effort into one major business
model for at least a few weeks, and probably more like
several months before you even think about pursuing
other options.
3. If you can't stay committed, you shouldn't be surprised
when you end up wasting your opportunities. If you've
failed to make a legitimate income online so far, it's not
because everything out there is a scam. Yes, there are
some shady sales letters out there, but that doesn't mean
that there aren't legitimate home business income
opportunities. You really can build a solid income on the
Internet, but you have to learn to focus like a laser beam
until you have enough data to evaluate the results.
4. How do you know if an online training course is
legitimate? Well, any serious guide, like the Internet
Income University, isn't going to make outrageous claims
about becoming a millionaire overnight. They're going to
give it to you straight, which means that you'll have to
commit yourself to working consistently over time. A
couple hours a day for a few months should be a minimum
if you want to start making some extra income, but it's
just the beginning if you want to build a very lucrative
business.
5. Also, any online training course should help you focus on
the activities that actually build your business. In other
words, you'll learn how to choose a niche, perform
keyword research, build a website, drive traffic, and
ultimately make sales! If you're not working on one of
these core business activities, you're probably wasting
your time checking your email or talking with your friends
on Facebook. These things are not going to build your
business, and neither is spending hours each day learning
about 10 more online business opportunities. Once
again, you have to focus.
6. Treat your new venture like a business instead of a hobby.
If you think of it in these terms, then you'll soon realize
that results don't come in overnight. Keep learning
because knowledge is critical in building an online
business. The only people who succeed on the internet are
the ones that keep perfecting it.
