3. The Schools and Libraries program Commonly known as E-Rate Makes telecommunications and information services more affordable Provides a discount range from 20 to 90 percent depending on household income of local community
4. E-Rate How does E-Rate services work? The school or library must develop a technology plan The school or library then provides notice that it seeks services Vendors bid to provide the desired services After USAC approves the school’s or library’s application, the vendor provides the eligible services to the school or library at discounted prices
5. E-Rate Who Pays for the Schools and Libraries Program? Funds for this program are collected from a pool of telecommunication companies that contribute to the UFC allocations.
