Editor's Notes
PurposeDelivering educator professional development related to Home Base systems. The Home Base related training must be focused on using digital and other instructional technologies to provide high-quality, integrated digital teaching and learning to all students, and acquiring quality digital content to enhance instruction.
Research shows that student achievement is typically higher in schools with library media programs that have flexibly accessed instruction. I communicated recently with media/technology directors who would like to connect their elementary principals/SLMCs who operate a fixed schedule library with principals/SLMCs who have strong elementary library programs operating on a fully flexible schedule for instruction.
Each year NCTIES recognizes outstanding individuals who have shown outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education.
