3. Hello there!
My name is Deyanira Rangel, a senior
majoring in Civil Engineering Technology with
a minor in Industrial Technology and this is
my E-Portfolio. In it, you’ll find my
educational goals, resume and my recent
accomplishments over the years. It also
provides information about my background,
career goals and future aspirations. I hope by
the end of my E-Portfolio, you’ve gotten to
know and learn lots about me. Because when
you live in a world that’s constantly trying to
change you, remaining yourself is the biggest
accomplishment.
4. I was the perfect Christmas present to my
parents by being born a cold Monday morning on
December 23rd 21 years ago. I was born and raised in
Houston, Texas with my two younger brothers and
my parents. My parents are both from Mexico so I’m
Hispanic and can speak Spanish fluently.
Life growing up including going to school,
coming home to play with her brothers and eating
dinner with her family as I’m very family oriented.
Growing up in a Hispanic cultural being the oldest
and only girl made me a highly responsible person
and thus school was always my number one priority.
Upon my high school graduation, I received
a full honors scholarships to Texas Southern
University where I currently attend. As a senior, I can
honestly say this has been my hardest year
academically wise but I’ve manage to remain focus
on walking across the stage with my class. But more
importantly, I’ve tried to focus on life after
graduation.

7. As a graduating senior, my educational goals are more important then
ever. Upon graduation with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering Technology and
a minor in Industrial Technology, I plan to pursue my master degree in engineering
at a university outside of Texas. I’ve always wanted to travel the world, and thus
combining my educational goals with personal goal of traveling is the perfect way
to go.
My vision after receiving a master degree in engineering is to work the
field for a couple of years to gain experience and to travel the world. Then retire
and become a high school teacher or college professor and teach engineering. I
believe that the youth is our future and thus I want to help shape it.
Throughout my life, the people that have inspired me the most have
been my teachers, from my high school teacher who thought engineering where I
learned my passion from to my college honors professor who believes educational
is the key to success.
My educational goals are not to learn myself, but to inspire others to
better themselves through education thus providing a better future for us all!
