APROXIMADA
Esta unidad de atletismo I dentro del bloque de contenidos de Juegos y
deportes tiene sentido en la Educación Física por su carácter educativo, a
la vez que aprendemos los aspectos técnicos y reglamentarios que requiere
estas disciplinas atléticas y porque suponen actividades que fomentan valores
y actitudes muy importantes. Junto con una adecuada técnica de carrera,
la salida de tacos es determinante en carreras de velocidad, al igual que
el salto de altura, es una disciplina atlética muy atrayente y con respecto a
los lanzamientos mostramos el lanzamiento de peso (técnica rectilínea) y el
lanzamiento de jabalina.

TAREAS
- Mejorar la ejecución de los aspectos técnicos fundamentales del atletismo
aceptando el nivel alcanzado. Se evaluará la progresión de las habilidades técnicas.
Además se observará si hace una evaluación ajustada de su nivel de ejecución y
con su compañero-a y si es capaz de resolver con eficacia los problemas motores
planteados
- Comparar a través de la práctica la diferencia entre la técnica circular y lineal en
lanzamiento de peso
- Diferenciar las diferentes fases de la técnica del salto de altura y del lanzamiento de
peso y de jabalina
- Comprobar la técnica de salida de tacos, del salto de altura, y del lanzamiento de
peso y jabalina del compañero y propia a través de Hoja de observación de por parejas
(enseñanza recíproca)

SHEET 1: TAKE OFF OBSERVATION
Starting a race:
When you start a race in the “down” position it is important the position of your
feet on the block is the correct one.
Follow this diagram; put the tip of your front foot and the tip of your back foot on
the blocks.
Put the front knee near the chest and your left knee on the ground with your toes
facing front. Tuck your left foot under your behind, and put your hands on the
line like this:
Note:
• The distance between the start line and the first block is two feet.
• The distance between the first block and the back block is less than one foot.
Starting the race
•On READY, stay down.
•On SET: straighten your back
There are special shoes called SPIKES.
They have tiny spikes at the front of the
shoe to help you run on the track.
I’ll show you how to start a race.

With a partner, you are going to observe each other.
First, observe your partner’s take off and then switch roles.
GUIDELINES:
1. Observe your partner’s performance and
write down your observations.
2. Don’t say anything to your partner
about his/her performance.
3. At the end put a mark down for your
partner according to the number of errors and then
switch roles.
4. You should do an overall evaluation.
5. It is important to say whether the take
off is lateral or frontal.

SHEET 4: SHOT PUT
The shot is a weight in the form of a ball.
Be careful! Improper usage can be dangerous
Rest it on the side of your neck. It must fit in the tips of your
fingers. Put your elbow down.
There are two kinds of shot puts:
Spinning throw (similar to discus throw) and lineal throw (easier to learn)
The throwing zone is circular. Don´t go out of this circle!

SHEET 6: JAVELIN THROW
I’ll tell you about throwing the javelin. Read the text
below and complete the sentences
The Javelin is a long object with a point at one end. The black bit
is the grip. It gets heavier as you get older.
To throw it, just follow through and release. In the javelin throw
there is a long, straight run-up. To run up properly you need to do
8 steps, like this:
Don´t forget the Crossing phase because you have to cross your
legs before you throw it.
You can also get proper shoes for javelin throw.
They are called javelin boots, and they have spikes on the heel as
well as on the front part.
Your teacher will explain to you how to hold the javelin, the
types of grip, the final throw, the running phase and the
crossing phase.

Read the following sentences about track and field
and say if they are true (T) or false (F).
1. At the starting blocks there are three stages: “Ready,” “Set,” and “Go.”
2. Your hands shouldn’t be as close as possible to the starting line.
3. In races, they use spikes on the track.

Junto con una adecuada técnica de carrera, la salida de tacos es determinante en carreras de velocidad, al igual que el salto de altura, es una disciplina atlética muy atrayente y con respecto a los lanzamientos mostramos el lanzamiento de peso (técnica rectilínea) y el lanzamiento de jabalina.   • 6. 6 Material AICLE Secundaria 1º de E.S.O.: Track and Field SHEET 1: TAKE OFF OBSERVATION Starting a race: When you start a race in the “down” position it is important the position of your feet on the block is the correct one. Follow this diagram; put the tip of your front foot and the tip of your back foot on the blocks. Put the front knee near the chest and your left knee on the ground with your toes facing front. Tuck your left foot under your behind, and put your hands on the line like this: Note: • The distance between the start line and the first block is two feet. • The distance between the first block and the back block is less than one foot. Starting the race •On READY, stay down. •On SET: straighten your back There are special shoes called SPIKES. They have tiny spikes at the front of the shoe to help you run on the track. Improper usage can be dangerous Rest it on the side of your neck. It must fit in the tips of your fingers. Put your elbow down. There are two kinds of shot puts: Spinning throw (similar to discus throw) and lineal throw (easier to learn) The throwing zone is circular. Don´t go out of this circle! Read the text below and complete the sentences The Javelin is a long object with a point at one end. The black bit is the grip. It gets heavier as you get older. To throw it, just follow through and release. In the javelin throw there is a long, straight run-up. To run up properly you need to do 8 steps, like this: Don´t forget the Crossing phase because you have to cross your legs before you throw it. You can also get proper shoes for javelin throw. They are called javelin boots, and they have spikes on the heel as well as on the front part. Your teacher will explain to you how to hold the javelin, the types of grip, the final throw, the running phase and the crossing phase. Which phase is the easiest for you? At the starting blocks there are three stages: “Ready,” “Set,” and “Go.” 2. Your hands shouldn’t be as close as possible to the starting line. 3. In races, they use spikes on the track. 4.
