In the future voice customers will demand, from their voice providers, the ability to access their telephony services via the web; This will be offered via a seamless web based API which allow users to mash-up their telephony services with their web applications. Never again, will we have to dial a number into a keypad, the gap between the web and telephone will finally be closed once and for all. This is significant, because the ever expanding myriad of social networking and online initiatives are currently somewhat divorced from the telephony networks of today. the future needs to allow for tight integration of web applications and telephony services.
