PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
FANDANGO EVENTS is a new feature on the Fandango mobile app for individuals and
groups who want to discover and attend concerts and other events.
It highlights a variety of popular local events, allows users to securely purchase tickets,
and provides the convenience of an e-Ticket.
Unlike Ticketmaster, an individual can reserve seats for a group and enable each
individual to purchase their seat separately.

the events were big pain points.

I love to bring people together.
Jake, 24 has been the class clown since grade school. He loves being
the life of the party and taking advantage of city life. When he's not
working 10-hour days as a Sales Representative for a pharmaceuticals
company, he's organizing comedy show outings twice a month. Jake
most of the ride from his Galaxy S4 running Android. He's too busy to
socialize much at work, but he is able to check in with friends via text
message about shows and plans that evening during his lunch breaks.
Evening ritual:
When he’s not out with friends, he uses an Apple TV, Hulu, Vudu and
Comcast Cable to record and watch anything whenever he wants.

SCENARIO: COREY
Corey is feeding her baby at home in Palo Alto and checking
email on her iPad at the same time. She gets an email from her
best friend organizing a Dixie Chicks country concert in Oakland
Coliseum to reminiscence their younger days. Her dream is to
respond YES immediately, however, she has to check her family
calendar, check with her husband, and the thoughts that run
through her mind are - cost? transportation? drive? park? tra!c?
Goal
To "nd the best seats and best priced tickets from a reliable
source for her herself and her friend, as soon as they are
available for sale.
Obstacle
Tickets get sold out as soon as they are available on the site and
she does not like buying in the secondary market.

Opportunity
Fandango o#ers an option to reserve the seats for a certain cost
for a limited time, while not allowing mass ticket sales to one
individual to sell on the secondary market. It sends a reminder
before the tickets go on sale, provide a seat-picking chart. It will
o#er a parking spot for an extra cost or a map of parking
structures close by or alternate public transportation options.

As a user, I want to reserve my choice of seats at a certain price for a limited time, so that I can get the best seats.
As a user, I want my tickets from a reliable source, so that I don’t lose money from fraud.
As a user, I want to be reminded before the tickets go on sale, because I’m very busy and need help remembering.
As a user, I want to know my transportation options, so that I don’t have to worry about getting there.

SCENARIO: JAKE
Jake is driving home from work and hears on the radio that
Jerry Seinfeld will be performing next month in his area. He
quickly pulls out his iphone and asks Siri to google “Jerry
Seinfeld Shows in SF.” At a red light he "nds the date, price and
location. It’s expensive--$90-- and they go on sale tomorrow.
When he gets home he sends a link with the details to 3 of his
best friends.
Goal
Purchase his own ticket to the show, have his friends go and all
sit together.
Obstacle
Doesn’t have the income to buy tickets for everyone at one
time so seats will be together.
Opportunity
Fandango o#ers a way for a group to purchase as individuals
and sit together. Group is noti"ed of who’s in and they receive
an e-ticket, saved in the app.

Method:
We sketched 5 core screens based on user research
results.
Findings:
There is no reference to how group members could pay
individually.
Opportunities Identi!ed:
• Fandango can be the !rst to provide a solution for
groups seats to be purchased individually.

Method:
We created a POP App prototype and asked 7 user
testers to !nd a concert and invite their friends to
go in a group.
Findings:
• Users were confused by “Go with Friends” "ow.
• The seating options - being able to view the seats
when he clicks on the map

Her dream is to respond YES immediately, however, she has to check her family calendar, check with her husband, and the thoughts that run through her mind are - cost? transportation? drive? park? tra!c? Goal To "nd the best seats and best priced tickets from a reliable source for her herself and her friend, as soon as they are available for sale. Obstacle Tickets get sold out as soon as they are available on the site and she does not like buying in the secondary market.
