It gives us immense pleasure to present before you this II edition of

manifestation of our dreams. It is a mirror of our successes, a
recapturing of our moments of glory; a saga of all that we are and
wish to be. We as a team of this newsletter are highly thankful to our
Madam Principal for her unstinted support that made us relentless in

PRINCIPAL‟S MESSAGE
I am glad to greet you on the occasion of the release of
the second issue of the newsletter.
The future belongs to the young and it is the young who
create it. It was gratifying to note that we seek to excel
not only in academics but create a world of truth,
courage, justice and lofty aspirations. The newsletter
gives a preview of the activities and reflects the spirit
and achievements of the school.
I take this opportunity to offer my congratulations to all
the members of the faculty and the students for carving
a niche for themselves and maintaining high standards
of academic excellence among the committee of school
in the capital.
“ If you want to build a ship,
Don‟t herd people to gather wood,
Divide the work and give orders
Instead, teach them to yearn for
The vast and endless sea.”

Religious fervour and traditional gaiety marked the Janamashtmi celebrations in the
school. The students enthusiastically presented captivating folk dances. Their attires and
intricate moves transported the audience to „Brij‟-krishna‟s holy land. Our tiny tots spoke
of the significance of krishna‟s life and teachings. In all, the celebration was full of hues of
happiness as Shri Krishna himself was a manifestation of joy at all levels and in all walks of
life.
Children’s Day celebrations
Children‟s day was celebrated on 13th November 2010 with zeal
and enthusiasm. A dance performance was staged by Maffiick
dance theatre group on the ground to teach different dance styles
like basic breaking, hip pop, basic jazz etc. The students were
enthralled to hear the melodious songs sung by the
teachers.

Investiture Ceremony
While our school was emulating the leaders of the past and present on Independence
day on one hand, on the other hand, the “going-to-be-prefects” students were way
too excited for the duties and the posts they were going to be honoured with. The
school celebrated Independence Day as well as its Investiture Ceremony on 13th
August 2010. Mr. Ajay Kapur, Manager of the school graced the occasion as the
chief guest. The speeches, patriotic songs and dances reminded us of our great
leaders.
The Principal Ms. Alka Kapur administered the oath to the new students council. All
prefects pledged to do their duty with utmost sincerity and responsibility and
received their badges and certificates by the honourable chief guest. The Principal
congratulated the newly appointed students’ council and reminded them that it is
here that they have made a beginning to become future leaders and lead the nation
forward.

ONION THE BEST
All the vegetables contested for finding out which one of them
was the greatest. They prayed to the lord to judge the contest
Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh unanimously proclaimed the
onion to be the winner. Why? Because, it had the quality of
maintaining the same smell and taste throughout it‟s life. The
quality of consistency is that we need to learn from it!
Lord Brahma blessed the onion with a beard just like his own!
Lord Vishnu said, “If you are cut horizontally, my spinning

Rupee gets a symbol
The Indian rupee has got a unique symbol—a blend of the Devanagri „Ra‟ and Roman „R‟
joining elite currencies like the US Dollar, Euro, British Pound and Japanese Yen.
Uday D Kumar’s symbol was chosen after a public competition was held among resident
Indian citizens inviting entries for a symbol which “reflects and captures the Indian ethos
and culture”. India is the 6th country to get a symbol and we Indians are really proud of
our Rupee for getting a distinct identity like other currencies. This symbol would reflect the
strength and robustness of the Indian economy. Till now, the Indian currency was simply
denoted by Rs. Or INR. Soon our computer system‟s keyboard and software will replace Rs.
with the new symbol. Apoorv Vats

DON”T QUIT
When the things get wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you;re riding seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When the care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don‟t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
Don‟t give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit.
It‟s when things seem worst that you must not quit. Shubham Thakur V D

Are we heading towards our end? ?
Globalwarming, which is a gradual increase in planet-wide
temperatures, is now well documented and accepted by scientists as a fact. This
warming is largely attributed to the increase of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s
upper atmosphere caused by human burning of fossil fuels, industrial, farming and
deforestation. It has been found out the carbon dioxide is 30% higher than any time in 6,50,000 years.
Methane is 130% higher than any time in this period. Carbon dioxide emission is rising 200 times faster
than any time in this period. US scientists say that in the last 150 years, sea levels have been rising
twice as fast as in previous centuries.
Average global temperatures may increase by 1.4-5.8°c by the end of the 21st century. In Tibet, the ice
records indicate that the last 50 years have been the warmest in 1,000 years. This temperature rise can
trigger significant changes in the climate. Besides resulting in hotter days, many scientists believe an
increase in temperatures may lead to changes in precipitation and weather patterns. Warmer ocean
water may result in more intense and frequent tropical storms and hurricanes.
The famous Indian river, the Ganges is beginning to run dry because the glacier from which the river
gets it’s water is shrinking at a rate of 34 meters a year, twice as fast as two decades ago. It is
estimated that the glacier could disappear by 2030. This may result in the rise of the sea level by
0.09-0.88m in the next century, mainly from melting glaciers and expanding seawater. Global warming
may also affect wildlife and species that cannot survive in warmer environment so they may become
extinct. Finally, human health is also at stake, as global warming may result in the spreading of malaria,
the flooding of major cities, a greater risk of heat stroke for individuals. And poor air quality.
Just one question in the end - Are we heading towards our end?? By- Niti Jain IX-B
How to manage time to manage your life
All of us have the same amount of time. There are only 24 hours in a day and nothing more. It is
rightly said that a busy man finds time for everything while a lazy man will not find time for
anything. The difference is only that one manages time well while the other mismanages time.
Success or failure depends on the way we use time. In our day to day life there are several
occasions when one can use slipping minutes of time by proper planning. The moment you begin
to effectively use your time and organize yourself, you will be surprised at the number of activities
you could fit in a day and yet have ample leisure time foe relaxing. When you develop the art of
using every minute diligently and wisely in reading, you would be acquiring day by day. This will
also develop your mental skills for better prospects in future. So my advice to you all,
Use your time to do what you like the best. It will give pleasure and profit . it is never too late to
make use of your time usefully, effectively and wisely for all we know that-time and tide never
wait for any one….. Sugandha priya XI-A

I was angry with my foe Strangers with their feigned interest
I told it not, my wrath did grow. While those I love have turned away
And I watered it in fears, And if my best isn’t good enough
Night and morning with my tears What more can I give?
And I sunned it with smiles Go ahead-walk away
And with soft deceitful wiles. Just leave me here alone
And it grew both day and night, And if tonight I die,
Till it bore an apple bright Who will cry?
And my foe beheld it shine And my strength is drained
And he knew that it was mine. With nothing left to give

CHAIRMAN‟S MESSAGE
India is a land of festivity- religious as well as
folkloristic.
Indians love celebrating every little occasion from the
harvesting of crops, welcoming the spring or rain, to
seeing the full moon and lends itself to joyous
celebrations, splashed with colours, music, folk dances
and songs. Even the birthdays of divine beings are
celebrated by connecting them with particular festivals.
Christmas is round the corner and I feel it is the perfect
time to spread joy and cheer along with making
resolutions for the New Year.
So, on this occasion I wish all of you” near and dear
ones” a
Merry Christmas and a happy new year..
May all the sweet magic of Christmas conspire to
gladden your hearts
and fill every desire and make way for a fresh and Mr. K. L. Sobti(Chairman)
bright new year.
With Special Thanks To Madam Principal.
