2. When you first enter the website for the film ‘Abduction’ you are met with the film
title and date initially in a white font, but as the seconds go by, this font turns to red. I
found this a particularly useful method as most websites may have a ‘loading’ bar in
which the content of the website will come into effect, but this website broke that
convention and instead used an innovative way of relating it back to the film making it
a countdown until the viewer is revealed the rest of the website.
This seems like a unique element to have present on a website and could possibly be a
feature on ‘The Surgeon’ website.

5. Once the website has been revealed to the viewer, the trailer automatically starts playing within
a matter of seconds. This is a good way to promote the film even further as it almost gives the
viewer no choice but to watch it, considering it starts playing straight away. This method is also a
good technique to make the viewer want to see the film because the fact they were on the
website suggests there was some initial interest in the movie and having the trailer playing, it
raises questions from the audience’s point of view that they’d want to be answered and
therefore, they would go and watch the film.
To maximise the promotion of our film, this could be a potential feature on my film’s website.

6. The mise en scene of the picture present on the website shows a young male. He is
alone in the image and this therefore suggests his character is of great importance and
he could perhaps be the protagonist. He seems to be sliding down a building with shards
of glass falling down around him, implying that he could have just jumped out of a
building window or made a dramatic exit. The gun the protagonist is holding is a typical
example of iconography seen in an action film and proposes that the male character
could be a killer or maybe a target and is therefore using the gun as his protection.
