Joyner Library Joyner Library Ask-a-Librarian page at http://www.ecu.edu/cs-lib/reference/ask_a_librarian.cfm Personal assistance to members of the ECU community is offered by the Reference Department located on the first floor of Joyner Library. Assistance is provided at the reference desk, via email, instant messaging, telephone and through individual research consultations. Our staff can help you identify relevant print and online services, formulate search strategies, find statistical data, and much more.

7. Tutoring Resources at ECU Tutoring and academic assistance is available for East Carolina students at several center locations. Go to www.ecu.edu/tutoring for specific course assistance.

8. Math Assistance Assistance is available for mathematics coursework.Students should contact one of the following resources: Math Department offers a Math Tutoring lab in 110 Austin Building. Tutoring is available for math courses: MATH 0001, 0045, 1065, 1066, 1075, 1085, 2119, and 2122. For more information call the math department at 328-6461. http://www.ecu.edu/math/ Pirate Tutoring Center The PTC offers free peer tutoring in Math 0001, 0045, 1065, 1066, 1083, 1085, 2151, 2152 and 2283 at Joyner Library by daytime appointment and on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening. 9. Science Assistance Assistance is available for science coursework. Students should contact one of the following resources: Biology The Biology department offers Supplemental Instruction sessions for all core courses (BIOL 1050, 1100, 1200). Students should stop by N108 Howell Science Complex for posted tutoring hours are each semester or by calling the Biology department at 328-6718. Chemistry The Department of Chemistry Learning Center is located in room 343 of the Science and Technology Building. It is a computer lab where students can come and do their homework and a tutor will be available to answer questions. Students can contact the Chemistry Department Office at 328-9700 Pirate Tutoring Center The PTC offers peer tutoring in science courses including Biology 1050, 1060, 1100, 1200 and 2140; Chemistry 0150, 1150, 1160, 1120 and 1130; Physics 1250 and 1260, and Geology 1500 at Joyner Library evening and by appointment. 10. Foreign Language Assistance Foreign Language Individual tutoring in French, German, Latin, and Spanish is offered. 11. Writing Assistance English 1100 and 1200 The First Year Writing Studio helps students with English 1100 and 1200 course work. The First-Year Writing Studio is located in 2005 Bate Building and contact number is 328-6399. http://www.ecu.edu/first_year_studio/ University Writing Center At the University Writing Center students receive assistance with writing assignments for any academic course. Located in Joyner Library, students can drop in any time to meet individually with a consultant. The Center is open daytime Monday through Friday and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 9pm. Economics The Economics Department maintains a list of available independent Economics tutors. Students can contact Cindy Mills, Brewster A-427, at 328-6006 for more information. Pirate Tutoring Center The PTC offers peer tutoring by appointment and walk in evening tutoring in Accounting 2401 and 2521, Finance 2244, as well as Economics 2113 and 2133.
