PACOA Provides Scholarship for NRHA Retail Management Certification Program
Indianapolis, IN (April 1, 2016) – Joseph Moscola, general manager of Doody Home Center in
Brooklyn, New York, is attending the Spring 2016 class of the North American Retail Hardware
Association’s (NRHA) Retail Management Certification Program thanks to a $6,250 scholarship
provided by the Paint Applicator Corporation of America (PACOA).
The industry-focused program is a college-level retail management and leadership
development course designed to train future retail leaders within the independent home
improvement industry advanced retail management and leadership skills that will help them
advance in their careers.
In February, Moscola traveled to NRHA Headquarters in Indianapolis to attend the first class
session along with 13 other independent retailers from throughout the United States and
Canada. The cohort will return to Indianapolis two more times during the six-month program.
Each student will also receive individual business coaching and initiate a major business
improvement project to help provide a return on investment for course tuition. Moscola’s
project will focus on examining escalating labor expenses to bring them in line with industry
benchmarks.
“There is always something new to learn when it comes to the business,” says Moscola. “This
course is going to provide me with so many new insights and information that will help me
make improvements to the business. This scholarship is so meaningful to me because it’s
allowing me a wonderful opportunity to grow professionally, and I want to thank PACOA for
providing it.”
“We’re delighted that PACOA provided this scholarship for Joe to attend the Spring 2016 class,”
says Scott Wright, Executive Director of NRHA’s Retail Leadership Institute. “He is very
deserving and will make the most of this opportunity to further his career and his business. This
is just one of the many ways that PACOA continues to show its support for independent home
improvement retailers.”
