A system like BorrowItNow is essential to fully realize the
possibilities of consortial collaborative collection development.
With the implementation of this service, we will be able to
present our local constituents with a catalog of tens of millions
of titles.
 Presented to the GWLA board in Fall 2012
o A division between full implementers and lenders only
 Summer 2013
o August - Implementation began
• Borrowing add-ons are sent out
• Lending's server add-on for full implementers sent out
• Configuration of local ILLiad’s
 September 2013
o All full implementers are fully operational
o All lender only targets are fully operational
o Patrons have real-time location and call number access to 31
Research libraries
 Patron places the request through their local discovery
layer
 The results lists shows real-time location and availability
 The pertinent information for the request utilizes Open
URL to map an ILLiad request form
 For requests that are not submitted through the Relais
Discovery layer the staff can utilize the BorrowItNow
add-on
