these people are the ones who make a game sound like it dose but it isn’t just moving sound
files around and editing but a lot of particle work the mainly going out and record live
sounds or setup their own like an explosion then use software to edits these sound into
useable files that will be scripted into the game they tend to work solo but report to the
leaders of tams to show what they have got and what they need to do the sounds the ether
make or find must be their own or copyright free so that no other person can sue them also
the sounds and music used must be of a high standard
The sound designer has many jobs to do one of these is making the music for the game the
soundtrack is a key piece in and game as it sets the tone and paints a pitcher to the player
this means that he will have to do one of two thinks ether wright and compose his own
work or head out and fine an artist, band or composer to do it for him he will pay them for
their services

Another job is creating sound effects for the game he can do this in two ways ether make a
controlled environment and make the sound artificially the quality will be improved but may
lack the authenticity the other way is to go out into the world and find the sounds and
record them live this may not sound a clean but will feel real when playing the game both
ways are great for making high quality sound effects

However there is some work to be done before finding or making the sounds and music the
sound designer will meet with the creative directors and they will plan out what the need
for the game and make a plan for making them so that the programmers will have sounds
for adding to the game the designer will also do some research into the sounds he need by
playing other games and see that they have used and improve on that the research gives
him a bench mark

There is a lot to do at the end that includes going through all the sounds, dialog and music
to make sure that there is no play back issues and that they all sound good if any are lacking
in quality he will use a mixing station to alter and cut the piece of sound and make it work
then put it back knowing that is at the best quality possible this is will happen at the end of
the cycle

The use of software and hardware is a huge part of sound design the sound designer will
need hardware like a boom mic and all sorts of props like doors to create the sound and
after it will be put into software like reaper or midi to edit and perfect the sound it can also
be used to make sounds as well as music these types of hardware and software will all be
used by the sound designer and his team to make the sounds for the game
The sound designer will work with many actors and artists when making the sound track and
dialog this is all good fun but they are there to work so he will set them up in a sound proof
booth and they will reed there lines and he will edit cut and clean up the dialog and by the
end all the in game characters have a voice the same happens for music but they will be put
in a bigger room and the band or artist will sing and play the requested songs and the same
again it is cut, edited and cleaned up then placed in game
