The cruel business of human traffickers is just like any other business in that
the market for it is driven by supply-and-demand mechanics! In order to stop
this, we need to be informed about the processes being used by these human
traffickers to capture innocent and underprivileged people.
Cruel Business of Human Traffickers – Demand of Services:
A demand of services means that somewhere in the world, someone needs a
job to be done. If there is a high demand for services, there will be a high
demand for labor. For example; if it’s a harvesting season of potato, there will
be a high demand for farmhands. When the vegetable is totally ripe, they must
be harvested or they will rot in the ground. Whereas the farmer might have not
needed so many workers a few months back ago after planting, but now they
need a lot of workers and urgently.
And that’s the opportunity for human traffickers because they can fill the
demand of services with slaves from poor countries who are looking for
employment and a better future by continuously filling up their table with food
three times a day for their beloved children.
This is an example drawn from a sense that mostly agricultural workers are
low-paid in the poor countries and to get out of their poverty they try to reach
the other countries where they can be able to get better employment
opportunities and better remuneration as well.

involves recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a
person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the
purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or
slavery. And sex trafficking involves Commercial sex induced by force, fraud, or
coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such act”.
Adding to this, human trafficking affects every single region around the world,
regardless of socio-economic position, history, or political structure. Human
traffickers and smugglers have created an international market for labor
trafficking in human beings based on high profit stakes using commercial sex
and cheap labor. Human traffickers have exploited the innocent to create a
multibillion dollar industry, affecting more than 161 countries worldwide.
The toll counts to about 12.3 million men, women and children are trafficked
by human traffickers for commercial sex or forced labor today. People are
trafficked both in domestic region and also across borders. Migrating people
and internally displaced people are particularly exposed to that issue, as
evidenced by the aftermath of Haiti earthquake.
Labor trafficking destinations are mostly developed countries like USA, Europe,
Canada and Australia. In which Australia is becoming more attractive place for
human traffickers to increase their trade. Many people from Asian/African
countries are trying to get there from the route of Indonesia. And we see daily
news that people died and excruciated in these incursions.
There are endless examples which show us that the human trafficking is
becoming a highly profitable business for human traffickers.
3. Revolutionary Steps to Be Taken to End the Business of Human Traffickers:
1. To bring an end to human traffickers’ Business Empire, there is a dire need
to take revolutionary steps. Use of information technology is greatly needed at
this time. We need to create anti human trafficking platform which educates
people around the world about human trafficking forms while also helping the
victims.
2. We need to develop internet based platforms where people can add their
stories, so that anti-human-trafficking experts can get to the root cause of that
problem to minimize future exploitation.
3. We need authentic technology-based databases that document and record
profiles of human traffickers, so that people can have a resource to identify
them. People would also be able to utilize their own social media networks to
distribute that information into their peers according to their respective
regions.
All these things are literally possible since we are living in a “YES” world, where
everything seems possible. We need to encourage all people and especially
those organizations that are raising their voices against the great crime wave of
human trafficking. Having a strong centralizing and unifying virtual location for
everyone to collaborate at is what we need to end this anti-human business.
