         Higher Education

There are more than 50 university in Iraq today

There are two institutions intended in higher
education in Iraq,
first of all the ministry of higher education and
secondly, the Higher Committee for Education
Development in Iraq (HCED),
it is established recently with funding from the
Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office.
The HCED is scholarship program, it was
starting in 2009 .

In 1980,
 the country had almost 100% enrollment
in primary school.
In 1990
The schools use to be known for their
quality,
That went down to 91% in 1990, 85%
in 2007, before rebounding a bit since
then.
By 2010, 89% of youths in urban
areas, and 77% in rural ones were in
school. That covered 87% of boys, and 30

           Higher Education
 Education is highly centralized and Ministry of
 Education is the center of power. Ministries of
 Education and Higher Education specify a national
 course of study for all subjects, publish text
 books, finance the education and design and
 make tests. Education is uniform throughout the
 country.

  Challenges Facing Iran today


  High rate of “brain drain”. According to IMF
  which surveyed 61 countries, Iran suffers the
  highest rate of brain drain as every year
  150,000 educated Iranians leave their home
  country. The economic loss of brain drain is
  estimated at $50 billion dollars or higher a
  year.

               Basic Education

 The school system is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of
 Education and Training. In addition to schools, this Ministry also
 has responsibility for some teacher training and some technical
 institutes. The Ministry of Education employs the highest number of
 civil servants -42 per cent of the total- and receives 21 per cent of
 the national budget.
  A total of 15,018,903 students were enrolled in 87,024 schools with
 485,186 classes throughout the country in the academic year 2010-
 11. The breakdown was as follows: 509 schools for disabled
 children, 3,586 kindergartens, 59,280 elementary schools, 15,580
 intermediate schools, 4,515 secondary schools, 380 .

Iran
       Iran ranks 19th in current FIFA ranking. It has
   been qualified for World Cup 2006 in Germany.
   Iranian national team has experienced World
   Cup 1998 in France, and 1978 in Mexico. It has
   also been Asian champion for 4 times. Many
   Iranian players are playing in Europe, mainly in
   Germany and Italy
