2. 1 Kings 8:56
Blessed be the LORD, that hath given
rest unto his people Israel, according
to all that he promised: there hath
not failed one word of all his good
promise, which he promised by the
hand of Moses his servant.
3. The power of his promise
What doorways of hope open
with the power of a promise and
when it is God himself who
makes good promises what an
astounding view opens up
before us.
4. We often make promises
when faced with impending situations
BUT God himself promised simply because he is the
ultimate promise maker.
He simply loves to make promises because he knows that
he absolutely is able to perform and to keep any promise
that he should make.
5. When we make a promise
we know that we have the intention of
performing it but that we are subject to
circumstances beyond us.
For instance I could promised to meet my wife
downtown later today but the Lord Jesus
could intervene and simply call me home.
6. So my promises are limited
but our heavenly father, when he
makes a promise, is not bound by
limitation.
All that he asks is that we believe
that he will perform his promise.
7. I think that this verse
out of the book of Kings
ought to be engrafted into
our hearts and minds
because it is God who
promises.
8. God uses his servants
to communicate his promises.
He doesn’t need to make promises in
star signs but he makes his promises
the his word.
9. It is our joy and responsibility
to discover the promises
that God is freely made to
us so that we may believe
them and rely upon them.
10. God wants us to rest on his promises
confident that he will perform
what he has promised.
After all the promises of God
are yea and amen in him
11. 2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of
God in him are
yea, and in him
Amen, unto the glory
of God by us.
12. Don’t let the promises of God stagger you
but rather give glory to God and
be strong in the faith an
assurance that God does not
make empty promises but all of
his promises are performed by
him.
13. Romans 4:20
He staggered not at the
promise of God through
unbelief; but was strong in
faith, giving glory to God;
14. As you speak in tongues,
pray and read the word of
God you will become fully
persuaded that he will
perform what he has
promised
15. Romans 4:21
And being fully
persuaded that, what he
had promised, he was
able also to perform.
16. YEA & AMEN
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all
the promises of God in
him are yea, and in him
Amen, unto the glory of
God by us.
17. If you want to live in
righteousness and true Holiness you
will need to believe and rest on the
promises of God.
We can be righteous and no other
way.
18. 2 Corinthians 7:1
Having therefore these
promises, dearly beloved, let us
cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and
spirit, perfecting holiness in the
fear of God.
19. Do not underestimate the blessing
that comes with receiving the
promise of the spirit through faith.
Remember that Paul says that it is
through faith and not good works
that we receive the promise.
20. Galatians 3:14
That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we
might receive the promise of
the Spirit through faith.
21. We receive the kingdom
that is made without
hands through the
promises of God and
by trusting in them
22. Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then
are ye Abraham's
seed, and heirs according
to the promise.
23. Do not be slothful
Hebrews 6:12 That ye be
not slothful, but followers
of them who through faith
and patience inherit the
promises.
24. Endure to receive
James 1:12 Blessed is the man
that endureth temptation: for
when he is tried, he shall receive
the crown of life, which the Lord
hath promised to them that love
him.
25. Great & precious promises are given us
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto
us exceeding great and precious
promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having
escaped the corruption that is in the
world through lust.
26. The Promise Is Eternal Life
1 John 2:25 And this
is the promise that he
hath promised
us, even eternal life.
