I go down the list and flush out each bullet: Credo Reference itself is not a publisher, we aggregate content from 70 publishers currently with the hope of adding 1 publisher per quarter. So we are ever growing. Our Current General Reference Premium account (which SSC subscribes to) sits at 555 titles. We add titles to this collection all the time. You might have 555 this month, but 561 two months from now. We have multimedia files including about 100 videos and animations. The majority of our 200,000 audio files are audio pronunciations from our English Language dictionaries. We currently do not have audio in other languages.
We’re e-books only, no magazines, no journals, no magazines We’re general reference. If we are weak in any subject areas, please let us know what that is. If you have a favorite print book, what is it? Content accessible for every type of library and for library users from age 12-post graduate and professional. Not a “juvenile” database, but we have some great general reference encyclopedias appropriate for younger users and a huge amount of images htat are very easy to get to. We have Unique URLs that will allow you to link directly to any book or subject from your library webpage, subject guides, blackboard, moodle, LibGuides Full Citations on each entry will allow you to use whatever you find on Credo (text, images, etc) for whatever promotional needs you have, or student papers/projects

Credo has a number of Atlases. The map of Italy is from our Hutchinson Unabridged Encyclopedia with Atlas and Weather Guide. The map of Brazil is from our Philip’s World Fact Book 2008-2009. The tiny map of the world on the bottom of the screen is from our Concise Atlas of World History from Andromeda which looks at world history from a global perspective. Every part of the world, every era. I’ve shrunken it quite a bit.

Special Titles: All book jacktest have been hyperlinked, if you’d like to take your users to the table of contents for any of these books Hutchinson Encyclopedia with Atlas and Weather Guide: Multi-volume General Reference Encyclopedia, with over 4000 images, 600+ audio files including music clips, national anthems, poetry, etc & nearly 100 videos and animations. CIA World Factbook : Dynamic Statistics Tables. I’ve hyperlinked the book jacket to the “Population” statistics table. Use the Drop down menu to “compare” the population chart with Area (Sq km). You’ll see the Statistics table gain an “area” column. You can add as many columns as you like and export the list to excel. Five dictionaries listed on the bottom of the screen contain our audio pronunciations. Up to 200,000 of them. You can click one of the book jackets and highlight the tab named “audio” on the table of contents page.
We add or update titles all the time Add New: We add titles completely new to Credo. When we do this, we add these titles automatically to your collection. Your title list will grow on it’s own. Update: we also update older editions with the newest edition. When we update a title, the updated title replaces the older edition in every customer’s account. The older edition is removed entirely and replaced. We are subject to publisher permission when it comes to adding new editions to Credo. Therefore I can’t say that all titles on Credo are the latest edition. We wait until the publisher gives us permission, but as soon as they do, we put the title on Credo.
Newsletters to help you keep up with your Credo collection
This is SSC’s default search screen. I tend to focus on the top tool bar when doing my trainings. It gives the user a grounding that they can always return to. I’ll include screenshots for each of the 4 ways to search with example searches to try.
This is the results screen after running a keyword search on ‘Communism’. We’ve searched your entire Credo e-book collection with one search box. The first thing you see in the results is a Topic Page. I’ll create a Topic Pages slide for you at the end of the demo. We have 10,000 Topic Pages currently and you can find them by running a keyword search. “ Reference Entries” – follow this. These are the full text results from your Credo e-book collection. We sort our results with precedence given to three things: Relevance: Where is your search term located, in the heading? In the Full text? And how often does it appear? Images and Multimedia files – we’d like to supplement your results with visual cues, so entries with images rise to the top Word Count – we want to give you as much rich, contextual detail as possible. Faceted Browsing is found on the left of the screen. Narrow your 3946 results by subject, entry type, multi-media file, person or print publication date Good example: I’ve hyperlinked the search to the screenshot to the real results page on Credo. Click the screenshot. Use the faceted browse to narrow your results by the “history” subject. Your results will narrow to 770, with all entries being taken from your history title list. Next narrow by entry type “biography”. You will be taken to a results page that is 190 entries long. All results will be taken from Credo’s history list, all entries will be biographical in nature and all will pertain to your term “Communism”
This is an example of a full text article. I’ve hyperlinked the screenshot, so you can click it to be taken to the live page. This is an example of a full text article. This is exactly what you would read if you had the print version of the book in front of you, including any images, charts maps or graphs. I’ve chosen a very short entry simply so it would fit on the screen. Most are much longer entries than this. All entries (full text article pages) are set up in the same way. We tell you what Credo e-book we have pulled this entry from (Philip’s Encyclopedia), we tell you the name of the entry (Chromosome) with an option to save this entry for your search session (purple save button). Icons on the upper right corner allow you to save your results more permanently right away (print, email, save). At the bottom of every entry you’ll find a full citation available in APA, Chicago, Harvard and MLA. (click the word to change the format) Links embedded within the full text (DNA, genes, diploid, for example) bring you to a different entry in the same book you are viewing. Related entries on the left allow you to search more Credo Entries throughout your entire Credo title list. Related Resources allow you to search your other databases Browse Book brings you directly to the book’s Table of Contents

I landed on this page after clicking on the “The Brain Book” link on the “Find a Book Page” Every book has a table of contents page. Every books’ Table of Contents page will differ from the last, depending upon the content. They differ by the tabs you see at the top of the screen. Here you see “About this Book”, “Contents,” “Headings” and “Images”. On a different book you might see “About a Book”, “Audio”, “People”. The Concept Map is a visual search tool. You’ll get the same results you would when running a keyword search. Every node you see on the screen represents a full text article on Credo Reference. Mouse over node to bring up a pop up box which tells you what entry that node pertains to (click open entry to open full text in new tab) Click node to make that node the center of a new map Dials on the left allow you to zoom in, rotate and see fewer or more nodes Screenshot is linked to “Ottoman Empire” map. Gadgets run searches on the full text of specific areas within Credo. Topic Pages aggregate Credo content on one screen so that your students can find what they need on any one of 10,000 topics in one place with one unique URL. The content in your Credo collection populates each topic page. You have the option of adding your other library resources to your topic page as well. This is what you see when you scroll down from the Credo content on the Topic Page. You can display content to which your library subscribes, including EBSCO, Wilson, Ebrary, CQ Press, Gale, Proquest, Britannica & JSTOR, for a true “one stop shop” for your students on any one topic. Clicking the link to any of these other vendor’s content will cause you to leave Credo and land on the platform of that vendor.
