Each year the library checks out more books. And each year we check out more materials such as magazines, audio books, videos, games, museum passes and equipment. In fact, our total circulation has doubled in the last 10 years!
Since 2000, the number of people using the library has grown 44%. But here is the interesting fact. The number of people using the library each year is consistently higher than the amount of materials that are checked out. Think about it. That means that for each person that comes in and checks out 3 books there are at least 2 more people that come in the library and don’t check out anything. What are they doing?
Teens and Tweens are playing a variety of games – board games, puzzles, inter-library tournaments or an alternate reality game. Or they are the special Reading Buddy or craft instructor. Adults are discussing books, doing yoga, listening to and speaking with authors or getting a passport.

Our new Early Literacy Stations with their touch screens are a favorite with the youngest users; but they also like our puzzles and board books.
Older children are reading graphic novels, studying and using computers.
Adults come in to read the paper, look at magazines, check their email, and use our Wi-Fi.
