Powerpoint Pointers Use bullet points DO NOT fill slide with text DO NOT read directly from slide Visuals Don’t distract from text Show connection to text
Powerpoint pointers (cont) Captions for “borrowed” images Keep animations simple No audible transitions between slides Skip personal photos
Powerpoint pointers (cont) Use a slide design/backdrop Use slide show mode If using sound links, check for speakers Preview blogs, social networking pages for suitability
Handouts planning Summarize main points Only give slide copies to interview team Limit to 1 – 2 pages For demo, include important steps Check whether handouts will be copied for you
Backup Plans – when the unexpected happens For online demos, create back up copy with screen shots Bring back up copy on thumb-drive Use handout in event of power failure Email  copies of presentation and handout to self Powerpoint in advance
