2. James Bond – Sequels.
James Bond is one of the most
popular action franchises of all
time which is shown here in
the ‘Frequently bought
together’ section where the
other three movies are all also
part of the James Bond series.
However they are in no order.
The Frequently bought
together section consists of a
number of movies that are
often bought together through
Amazon
3. Shooter.
Shooter was the first film to come up
in Amazon when I typed in ‘Action
films’. In its ‘frequently bought
together’ section it features another
action movie. ‘Green zone’. With
Relation to our questionnaire this
could suggest that a lot of people buy
there DVDs based on key actors or
actresses. In this case Mark Walberg
and Matt Damon.
4. Green zone
Although Amazon suggested that
Green zone was frequently
bought with ‘Shooter’ when I
clicked on Green Zone it
suggested that it is frequently
bought with ‘Hurt locker’ and
‘Inglorious Basterds’. It is obvious
that Amazon are trying to sell as
many DVDs as possible by linking
each DVD to another. These two
films are yet again, linked to
entirely different films. However
it does tell us that Customers
who buy action movies online
generally buy more than one at a
time and only buy action movies.
They don’t tend to buy more
than one Genre.
5. Box sets
The Bourne Trilogy is possible on of
the only rivals to James Bond in
terms of a single spy working alone.
However my research on Amazon
shows me that when consumers
buys a box set they buy other box
sets with it. However as ‘Harry
Potter’ is a Fantasy film these
customers do not necessarily stick
within the walls of the Action genre.
A Box set it typically expensive but
per unit you get the DVDs cheaper.
6. Generations.
Gladiator is a film set centuries
ago when the Roman Empire
was at its peak. My research
here shows me when someone
is going to buy a film from a
long time ago they don’t tend
to skip across generations. For
example the film frequently
bought with Gladiator is
Braveheart. A film also fort
with medieval weapons such as
swords.
