COMENIUS PROJECT
Transversal Competences – Today´s Solution for Tomorrow´s Jobs
I had a good time with Comenius. When I initially signed up for this project I knew very
little what I’m going to do. However, I’ve met a lot of interesting people, learnt
something about European market and how to success on it and it was a great
opportunity where I could practice my English skills.
Unfortunately first visit to Italy passed me so I can’t write much about it. However, I took
part in the second one which was right here – at Czech Republic – and it was interesting
to say the least. I had to work together with students from different countries on various
projects, like choosing an official logo for the whole project, which was used later for the
project. We also created and watched some presentations about some famous people
from different countries and we’ve also learnt something new about education in
European Union. All of these were quite interesting although I can't say that I remember
much of them anymore. Later that week we did some trips to various places like
Velehrad, Uh. Brod brewery and Zlin's shoe-making museum as well as Zlin's 21st
building which is a place which I've visited numerous times already but I've never got
the opportunity of seeing Thomas Bata's office or even being in there while operating.
And couple of others I can't think of at the moment. I have to admit that I enjoyed these
little trips very much and as well as the work on project itself.
I also took part in second visit to Poland’s Lublin which was, to be honest, my favorite
part of the whole project. Well, mostly. To be honest, I can’t really say that I enjoyed
those workshops all that much. Even though, we covered interesting topics like creating
a whole new company and everything around it. Including marketing or how does it feel
to be put in charge of things. But I just feel like that there was a huge emphasis on a

group work that I’m just not a huge fan of. I might be a rare exception in this but I just
don’t enjoy working in big groups. It’s good when we get to talk to each other and try to
arrange thing around, but I just can’t work as efficiently as when I’m alone. But apart
from that, there isn’t really to complain about. Trips were pretty cool and I especially
enjoyed our visit to Warsaw which was for me beautiful modern city full of life. People
there were just amazing. They were friendly and easy-going and they always had
something prepared for us, which was really nice. Also accommodation was close to
perfect. My hosts were really generous, helpful and
kind.
Also I was really impressed with Lublin and how big and beautiful it actually was with
an interesting history behind it and I enjoyed being there a lot. In fact, all of us did, I dare
to say. Nobody from our Czech group wanted to leave and the departure wasn't easy for
all us I believe. Hopefully we will visit it once again in the near future.
All things considered, I feel like that everybody really enjoyed this project immensely. It
was definitely and interesting and engaging experience that I have a lot of good
memories from.
