Energy consumption, especially from fossil fuels, is a major contributor to our large and increasing ecological footprint. Our energy-related ecological footprint has grown over 700% since 1961. Fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource that causes problems like global warming, acid rain, and health issues. To reduce our footprint, we should consider renewable and environmentally-friendly alternative energy sources like solar energy through solar panels or outdoor lights that are safer for the environment.
1. Reduce Your Ecological
Footprint!
Think Alternative Energy
Sources Now!!
Energy consumption is the largest
contributor of our ecological footprint-
the measure of demand that human’s
place on nature.
The energy component of our ecological footprint has increased
about 700% between 1961 and 2006.
Most energy consumption comes from the burning of fossil fuels ~ a non-renewable
resource that contributes to global warming, acid rain, and even bone and lug disease!
Instead of fossil fuels consider alternative energy sources like solar energy. Solar panels are
environmentally safe and can be purchased for your home! Solar powered lights for outside
your home are a great option as well.
