 Human resource is of paramount importance for the success of
  any organization. It is a source of strength and aid. Human
  resources are the wealth of an organization which can help it
  in achieving its goals.
 Human resource management is concerned with the human
  beings in an organization. It reflects a new outlook which
  views organization‟s manpower as its resources and assets.
 Human resource is the total knowledge,abilities,skills,talents
  and aptitude of organization „s workforce.
 So Human resource has become the focus of attention of
  every progressive organization
   Human resource is a resource like any other
    natural resource .

   It means that management can get and use the
    skill, knowledge, ability, etc. through the
    development of skills, tapping and utilizing
    the them again and again.
   According to Flippo           “Human resource
    management is the planning, organizing, directing
    and controlling of the procurement, development,
    compensation, integration, maintenance and
    reproduction of human resources to the end that
    individual, organizational and societal objectives
    are accomplished.”
1.   Objective :- HRM helps a company to achieve its objective from
     time to time by creating a positive attitude among workers.
     Reducing wastage and making maximum use of resources etc.
2. Facilitates professional growth :- Due to proper HR policies
   employees are trained well and this makes them ready for future
   promotions. Their talent can be utilized not only in the company in
   which they are currently working but also in other companies which
   the employees may join in the future.
3. Better relations between union and management :- Healthy HRM
   practices can help the organization to maintain co-ordinal
   relationship with the unions. Union members start realizing that the
   company is also interested in the workers and will not go against
   them therefore chances of going on strike are greatly reduced.
   4. Helps an individual to work in a team/group :- Effective HR practices teach
    individuals team work and adjustment. The individuals are now very comfortable
    while working in team thus team work improves.

   5. Identifies person for the future :- Since employees are constantly trained, they are
    ready to meet the job requirements. The company is also able to identify potential
    employees who can be promoted in the future for the top level jobs. Thus one of the
    advantages of HRM is preparing people for the future.

   6. Allocating the jobs to the right person :- If proper recruitment and selection
    methods are followed, the company will be able to select the right people for the
    right job. When this happens the number of people leaving the job will reduce as
    the will be satisfied with their job leading to decrease in labour turnover.

   7. Improves the economy :- Effective HR practices lead to higher profits and better
    performance by companies due to this the company achieves a chance to enter into
    new business and start new ventured thus industrial development increases and the
    economy improves.
   Understanding and relating to employees as individuals, thus identifying
    individual needs and career goals.
   Developing positive interactions between workers, to ensure collated and
    constructive enterprise productivity and development of a uniform
    organizational culture.
   Identify areas that suffer lack of knowledge and insufficient training, and
    accordingly provide remedial measures in the form of workshops and
    seminars.
   Generate a rostrum for all employees to express their goals and provide the
    necessary resources to accomplish professional and personal
    agendas, essentially in that order.
   Innovate new operating practices to minimize risk and generate an overall
    sense of belonging and accountability.
   Recruiting the required workforce and making provisions for
    expressed and promised payroll and benefits.

   Implementing resource strategies to subsequently create and
    sustain competitive advantage.

   Empowerment of the organization, to successfully meet
    strategic goals by managing staff effectively.

   The human resource department also maintains an open
    demeanor to employee grievances. Employees are free to
    approach the human resource team for any conceived query
    or any form of on-the-job stress that is bothering them.
   Performance of employees is also actively evaluated on a regular basis.
    These are checks conducted by the HR to verify and thereby confirm
    the validity of the employees actual performance matching the
    expected performance.
   Promotions, Transfers or expulsion of services provided by the
    employee are some duties that are enforced by the human resource
    department. Promotions are conducted and are predominantly based on
    the overall performance of the individual, accompanied by the span or
    tenure he has served the organization. The Human resource department
    also looks at the possibilities of the employee migrating from one job
    to another, maintaining the hierarchy in the company and considering
    the stability of post and the salary obtained over a period of time.

 important role in every organization to
 get competitive advantage through
 retaining high caliber people in the
 organization

  • 3.  Human resource is of paramount importance for the success of any organization. It is a source of strength and aid. Human resources are the wealth of an organization which can help it in achieving its goals.  Human resource management is concerned with the human beings in an organization. It reflects a new outlook which views organization‟s manpower as its resources and assets.  Human resource is the total knowledge,abilities,skills,talents and aptitude of organization „s workforce.  So Human resource has become the focus of attention of every progressive organization
  • 4. Human resource is a resource like any other natural resource .  It means that management can get and use the skill, knowledge, ability, etc. through the development of skills, tapping and utilizing the them again and again.
  • 5. According to Flippo “Human resource management is the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the procurement, development, compensation, integration, maintenance and reproduction of human resources to the end that individual, organizational and societal objectives are accomplished.”
  • 6. 1. Objective :- HRM helps a company to achieve its objective from time to time by creating a positive attitude among workers. Reducing wastage and making maximum use of resources etc. 2. Facilitates professional growth :- Due to proper HR policies employees are trained well and this makes them ready for future promotions. Their talent can be utilized not only in the company in which they are currently working but also in other companies which the employees may join in the future. 3. Better relations between union and management :- Healthy HRM practices can help the organization to maintain co-ordinal relationship with the unions. Union members start realizing that the company is also interested in the workers and will not go against them therefore chances of going on strike are greatly reduced.
  • 7. 4. Helps an individual to work in a team/group :- Effective HR practices teach individuals team work and adjustment. The individuals are now very comfortable while working in team thus team work improves.  5. Identifies person for the future :- Since employees are constantly trained, they are ready to meet the job requirements. The company is also able to identify potential employees who can be promoted in the future for the top level jobs. Thus one of the advantages of HRM is preparing people for the future.  6. Allocating the jobs to the right person :- If proper recruitment and selection methods are followed, the company will be able to select the right people for the right job. When this happens the number of people leaving the job will reduce as the will be satisfied with their job leading to decrease in labour turnover.  7. Improves the economy :- Effective HR practices lead to higher profits and better performance by companies due to this the company achieves a chance to enter into new business and start new ventured thus industrial development increases and the economy improves.
  • 8. Understanding and relating to employees as individuals, thus identifying individual needs and career goals.  Developing positive interactions between workers, to ensure collated and constructive enterprise productivity and development of a uniform organizational culture.  Identify areas that suffer lack of knowledge and insufficient training, and accordingly provide remedial measures in the form of workshops and seminars.  Generate a rostrum for all employees to express their goals and provide the necessary resources to accomplish professional and personal agendas, essentially in that order.  Innovate new operating practices to minimize risk and generate an overall sense of belonging and accountability.
  • 9. Recruiting the required workforce and making provisions for expressed and promised payroll and benefits.  Implementing resource strategies to subsequently create and sustain competitive advantage.  Empowerment of the organization, to successfully meet strategic goals by managing staff effectively.  The human resource department also maintains an open demeanor to employee grievances. Employees are free to approach the human resource team for any conceived query or any form of on-the-job stress that is bothering them.
  • 10. Performance of employees is also actively evaluated on a regular basis. These are checks conducted by the HR to verify and thereby confirm the validity of the employees actual performance matching the expected performance.  Promotions, Transfers or expulsion of services provided by the employee are some duties that are enforced by the human resource department. Promotions are conducted and are predominantly based on the overall performance of the individual, accompanied by the span or tenure he has served the organization. The Human resource department also looks at the possibilities of the employee migrating from one job to another, maintaining the hierarchy in the company and considering the stability of post and the salary obtained over a period of time.
  • 11. Human resource management plays a very important role in every organization to get competitive advantage through retaining high caliber people in the organization
