Evaluation
   Good Girlz Bad
Good girlz bad are a girl group consisting of 2 girls
              Christiana and Sonal.

The Concept of our video is about girls having fun
  where ever they go, partying all weekend and
     making the most of their school week.
In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products
       Characteristics;
    When looking at the characteristics, we didn’t look at
    just girl group videos we looked at solo artists to see
    the kind of things that we needed
Lyrics and Visuals;

In our video we had a strong relationship between
the lyrics and visuals because most of the song was
based on the actual lyrics of the song.
For example on the second
verse the lyrics is about
‘some boys taking away a
beautiful girl and hide her
away from the rest of the
world’ and for this bit we
had the actual scene of a
boy dragging a ‘beautiful’
girl and ‘hiding’ her.
                              Throughout the song we had both of us
                              lip-syncing to the song, where you can
                              just see us either separately or together
                              seeing to the song.
Music and visuals;

We edited the footage to ensure that some of what
the viewer could see was at the same time as the
beat of our song. We did mainly during the chorus
were we were hula hooping so that it clip came on
beat after to beat.
Demand of the Record Label;

As a group under Sony BMG, we had to ensure that
we both had face time in the video.
So we had a verse were
Sonal had the main lead.



                                 Another verse were I had the
                                 main lead.



  And every other part of the song had both of us, we did this to
  ensure that we both had equal time within the video, seeing as the
  audience wants to see all of the group.
Notion of looking;
At the beginning of the video we made it seem as we
were looking through a mirror as in the audience was our
reflection.




And the other part were we used the audience as a
mirror is when we came out the toilets.
Most of the video we had it looking at us and what was
happening through the audiences view. All these images
represent the different way in which we want the
audience to see us.
Intertexual references;
For our intertextual reference originally we wanted to
use Beyoncé's cloning sequence instead we used
here split screen layout.




We also used the whole in the school having fun
idea from the Brittany Spears song, were we waited
in the library until time was up then ran out.
How effective is the
    combination of your main
   product and ancillary texts?
I would say that my digipak and poster does hold a
unified front with my video despite the fact it was
changed because even though the images used for
my digipak and poster where not the costumes worn
in the actual music video you can still tell it is they
are all still the same people.
What have you learned from
 your audience feedback?
For out first video we asked people what they thought of the
idea, seeing as we never got as far as finishing the video.
From our first video idea the feedback we got was;
Negative -
•    The idea was to complex.
•    It was confusing.
•    It is hard to see how it flow along.
Positive –
•    From the footage we had; we really played the both parts
     well.
•    To those that understood the concept, they thought it was
     a good idea.
But the project was cut short due to technique difficulties.
From our finished and current video, from the feedback we
received from both our class and our target audience was;
•    It’s a simple idea
•    The Lighting on the car scene was too dark compared to
     the rest of the video.
•    Repetition of the hula hoop scene.
•    It’s a good idea of showing how to have fun throughout
     school.
- How did you use new media technologies
in the construction and research, planning
and evaluation stages?
    •   Research and Planning;
        Youtube; We used youtube to find songs within our set genre, we
        also used youtube to help us find ideas that we could use in our
        videos.
        Blogger; Blogger was constantly used to record any new information
        or ideas we had. Blogger was also used to record and keep track of
        the things we had done and wanted to do. Blogger also had the a
        place were we could upload videos which I used to illustrate some
        ideas needed.
    •   Construction;
        Final Cut Pro; we used final cut pro to edit our videos, and add effects
        to our videos, such as the check board.
        Photoshop cs1; I started off using photoshop cs1 and preferred to
        use it to photoshop element because I felt it was easier to use and I
        could do what I wanted to do more effectively.
    •   Evaluation;
        Youtube; We created an account and posted our video so that selected
        people could see and send their feedback.
        Facebook; We posted it on our pages for extra feedback.
        Blogger; Which is were we saved all of our previous feedback received
        from the class and teacher, on all of our things.

  • 1. Evaluation Good Girlz Bad
  • 2. Good girlz bad are a girl group consisting of 2 girls Christiana and Sonal. The Concept of our video is about girls having fun where ever they go, partying all weekend and making the most of their school week.
  • 3. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products Characteristics; When looking at the characteristics, we didn’t look at just girl group videos we looked at solo artists to see the kind of things that we needed
  • 4. Lyrics and Visuals; In our video we had a strong relationship between the lyrics and visuals because most of the song was based on the actual lyrics of the song. For example on the second verse the lyrics is about ‘some boys taking away a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world’ and for this bit we had the actual scene of a boy dragging a ‘beautiful’ girl and ‘hiding’ her. Throughout the song we had both of us lip-syncing to the song, where you can just see us either separately or together seeing to the song.
  • 5. Music and visuals; We edited the footage to ensure that some of what the viewer could see was at the same time as the beat of our song. We did mainly during the chorus were we were hula hooping so that it clip came on beat after to beat.
  • 6. Demand of the Record Label; As a group under Sony BMG, we had to ensure that we both had face time in the video. So we had a verse were Sonal had the main lead. Another verse were I had the main lead. And every other part of the song had both of us, we did this to ensure that we both had equal time within the video, seeing as the audience wants to see all of the group.
  • 7. Notion of looking; At the beginning of the video we made it seem as we were looking through a mirror as in the audience was our reflection. And the other part were we used the audience as a mirror is when we came out the toilets. Most of the video we had it looking at us and what was happening through the audiences view. All these images represent the different way in which we want the audience to see us.
  • 8. Intertexual references; For our intertextual reference originally we wanted to use Beyoncé's cloning sequence instead we used here split screen layout. We also used the whole in the school having fun idea from the Brittany Spears song, were we waited in the library until time was up then ran out.
  • 9. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? I would say that my digipak and poster does hold a unified front with my video despite the fact it was changed because even though the images used for my digipak and poster where not the costumes worn in the actual music video you can still tell it is they are all still the same people.
  • 10. What have you learned from your audience feedback? For out first video we asked people what they thought of the idea, seeing as we never got as far as finishing the video. From our first video idea the feedback we got was; Negative - • The idea was to complex. • It was confusing. • It is hard to see how it flow along. Positive – • From the footage we had; we really played the both parts well. • To those that understood the concept, they thought it was a good idea. But the project was cut short due to technique difficulties. From our finished and current video, from the feedback we received from both our class and our target audience was; • It’s a simple idea • The Lighting on the car scene was too dark compared to the rest of the video. • Repetition of the hula hoop scene. • It’s a good idea of showing how to have fun throughout school.
  • 11. - How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? • Research and Planning; Youtube; We used youtube to find songs within our set genre, we also used youtube to help us find ideas that we could use in our videos. Blogger; Blogger was constantly used to record any new information or ideas we had. Blogger was also used to record and keep track of the things we had done and wanted to do. Blogger also had the a place were we could upload videos which I used to illustrate some ideas needed. • Construction; Final Cut Pro; we used final cut pro to edit our videos, and add effects to our videos, such as the check board. Photoshop cs1; I started off using photoshop cs1 and preferred to use it to photoshop element because I felt it was easier to use and I could do what I wanted to do more effectively. • Evaluation; Youtube; We created an account and posted our video so that selected people could see and send their feedback. Facebook; We posted it on our pages for extra feedback. Blogger; Which is were we saved all of our previous feedback received from the class and teacher, on all of our things.
