2. A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ contains typical conventions of a horror trailer as it contains a
supernatural being along with jumpy moments as well as blood and gore. All of these conventions
adds to the suspense of the horror trailer which is typical within the horror genre.

3. THE WOMAN IN BLACK
‘The Woman In Black’ also follows typical conventions of the horror genre with the use of a
children's nursery rhyme which can be manipulated into something scary and horrifying.
There is use of darkness and a supernatural being which adds to the horror trailer.

4. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4
‘Paranormal Activity 4’ partly follows conventions of the horror trailer such as darkness and
a supernatural being. But also goes against conventions with a handheld camera which is
not commonly used in horror trailers.
