2. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of
sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid
as it were our faces from him; he was despised,
and we esteemed him not.
3. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried
our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and
with his stripes we are healed.
4. But first must he suffer many things, and be
rejected of this generation.
5. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD
God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
6. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon
the houses where ye are: and when I see the
blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall
not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite
the land of Egypt.
7. And almost all things are by the law purged
with blood; and without shedding of blood is
no remission.
8. 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and
thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise
from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in his name among all
nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
9. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
10. 13 And one of the elders answered, saying
unto me, What are these which are arrayed in
white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And
he said to me, These are they which came out
of great tribulation, and have washed their
robes, and made them white in the blood of
the Lamb.
