Project Description:
Producing my First ever issues of my alternative music genre magazine, which
includes a front cover, contents page and a DPS so I am planning to complete 4
magazine pages. My magazine is inspired by NME music magazine so will look
quite similar to that. I will be competing with other magazine publishers who
also produce magazines at high quality professional standards who may charge
more for their magazine, so when it comes to price my magazine I will have to
focus on what the audiences preferred price is so they will be more likely to buy
my magazine. I would price it between £1.50-2.50.
Photographer:
The reason for my project being called “generations beat” is because it covers
different music from the past and present and some of the future music. The
verbal code ‘beat’ connotes that it will be a music magazine and will have some
of the latest music in it.
I will be the person who is taking the photos for my magazine
When taking my photos I shall use mid close up shots for the face and long
shots of the body which will include the person’s outfit. I will use high and
low key lighting to create different feel/emotions for the readers to be able to
relate to.
I will use Photoshop cs5 to create different effects on my photographs the
main effect I will probably use will be black and white.

Casting:
These people are very suitable to potentially be in my magazine because they
are the people who would be interested in my magazine and fit the target
audience for my magazine in the way they look, which are mostly men who
are of a young age group. I will use both head shots and full length shots for
my photo shoot so my magazine pages don’t all look the same throughout.

Wardrobe and Look:
The person in my pictures should be quite tall, white, male, and
have dark hair. The stereo type would be a young man maybe a
student who regularly attends festivals/gigs and has an interest
in alternative music genre.

Hair and makeup:
The boys in my photo shoot should have short hair at the sides with longer
length on top this hairstyle is worn by a lot of boys/men celebrities so a lot of
fans will choose to have the same haircuts. Below are examples of hairstyles.
These pictures represent the style of clothing the people in my magazine should
wear which is fashionable but casual as well. This is the type of style people
expect most .young men to dress like especially if they are students. This fashion
style is similar to some male alternative music artists you see such as Hozier or a
music band such as muse.

Where:
My photo shoot will take place in a number of different places which are outside,
inside and maybe in a photography studio where the backgrounds can be edited.
When: I plan to take my photographs in the day time during school time at
different places within the school grounds.
