10. Antichrist is called the Assyrian
• Isaiah 10:5-7 Ah, Assyria, the rod of my anger; the staff in their hands is
my fury! Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my
wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them
down like the mire of the streets. But he does not so intend, and his heart
does not so think; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations
not a few;
• Isaiah 14:24-25 YHVH (The Lord) of hosts has sworn: “As I have
planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, that I will
break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him
underfoot, and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their
shoulder.”
• Isaiah 31:8-9 “And the Assyrian shall fall by a sword, not of man; and a
sword, not of man, shall devour him; and he shall flee from the
sword, and his young men shall be put to forced labor. His rock shall pass
away in terror, and his officers desert the standard in panic,” declares
YHVH (the Lord), whose fire is in Zion, and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.
11. Antichrist is called the Assyrian (2)
• Isaiah 52:3-4 For thus says the Lord: “You were sold for
nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” For thus
says the Lord God: “My people went down at the first into
Egypt to sojourn there, and the Assyrian oppressed them for
nothing.
• Micah 5:5-6 And he shall be their peace. When the Assyrian
comes into our land and treads in our palaces, then we will
raise against him seven shepherds and eight princes of men;
they shall shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and
the land of Nimrod at its entrances; and he shall deliver us
from the Assyrian when he comes into our land and treads
within our border.
12. Antichrist is called the Assyrian (3)
• Numbers 24:21-24 And he looked on the
Kenite, and took up his discourse and
said, “Enduring is your dwelling place, and
your nest is set in the rock. Nevertheless, Kain
shall be burned when Asshur takes you away
captive.” And he took up his discourse and
said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
But ships shall come from Kittim and shall
afflict Asshur and Eber; and he too shall come
to utter destruction.”
13. Judgment of Assyria
• Isaiah 30:31 The Assyrians will be terror-stricken at
the voice of YHVH (the Lord), when he strikes with his
rod.
• Ezekiel 32:22 “Assyria is there, and all her company, its
graves all around it, all of them slain, fallen by the
sword, whose graves are set in the uttermost parts of
the pit; and her company is all around her grave, all of
them slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in
the land of the living.
• Zephaniah 2:13 And he will stretch out his hand
against the north and destroy Assyria, and he will
make Nineveh a desolation, a dry waste like the desert.
14. Judgment of Damascus
• Isaiah 17:1-3 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away
from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. The cities of Aroer are
forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall
make them afraid. The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the
kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the
glory of the children of Israel, says YHVH (the Lord) of hosts.
• Jeremiah 49:23-27 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and
Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is
sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. Damascus is waxed feeble, and
turned herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows
have taken her, as a woman in travail. How is the city of praise not left, the
city of my joy! Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the
men of war shall be cut off in that day, says YHVH (the Lord) of hosts. And I
will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces
of Benhadad.
15. Judgment of Damascus (2)
• Amos 3-5: Thus says YHVH (the Lord); For three
transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will
not turn away the punishment thereof; because
they have threshed Gilead with threshing
instruments of iron: But I will send a fire into the
house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces
of Benhadad. I will break also the bar of
Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the
plain of Aven, and him that holds the scepter
from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria
shall go into captivity unto Kir, says YHVH (the
Lord).
16. Judgment of Damascus (3)
• Zechariah 9:1 The oracle of the word of YHVH
(the Lord) is against the land of Hadrach and
Damascus is its resting place. For YHVH (the
Lord) has an eye on mankind and on all the
tribes of Israel, and on Hamath also, which
borders on it, Tyre and Sidon, though they are
very wise.
17. Israel People called out of Assyria
after Armageddon
• Isaiah 11:11 In that day YHVH (the Lord) will extend his hand
yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his
people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush,
from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the
coastlands of the sea.
• Isaiah 27:12-13 In that day from the river Euphrates to the Brook of
Egypt YHVH (the Lord) will thresh out the grain, and you will be
gleaned one by one, O people of Israel. And in that day a great
trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of
Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will
come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
18. Jews called out of Assyria
after Armageddon (2)
• Zechariah 10:10 I will bring them home from the
land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria, and
I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to
Lebanon, till there is no room for them.
• Micah 7:12-13 In that day they will come to
you, from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and
from Egypt to the River, from sea to sea and from
mountain to mountain. But the earth will be
desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit
of their deeds.
19. God’s blessing of Assyria
in the Millennium
• Isaiah 19:23-25 In that day there will be a
highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria
will come into Egypt, and Egypt into
Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with
the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the
third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the
midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts
has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my
people, and Assyria the work of my
hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
