The first step in applying for housing grants is to fill out the FAFSA form. While there are few grants specifically for housing, general grants can be applied to housing costs. Some potential housing grants are the Massachusetts State College Building Authority Housing Grant, Emerging Leader Scholarship, Junior/Senior Grant, National Oratorical Contest Scholarship, ROTC Room & Board Scholarship, and limited grants from Davidson College and Chadbourne Residential College. Students should ask their financial aid office about grants and search privately for additional opportunities to help cover rising student housing costs.
