The precast concrete superstructure is set on cast-in-place concrete foundations,
with precast concrete shear walls for lateral force resistance. Openings have
been provided in interior shear walls for passive security. One and a half levels of
the new garage are set below grade, incorporating the required fire protection
description and ventilation measures. In the southeast corner, the new garage ties in at two
levels of the existing underground parking facility. At the area of tie-in, the new
facility spans the existing structure to avoid applying additional loads to the
existing parking structure. Landscaping for the site has been designed for minimal
maintenance and to preserve the open green space.

Design-Builder and Constructor for the 450-car, five-story, precast parking garage
with adjacent 128,000 sf residence hall . Responsibilities included all related
sitework, pre-cast wall-and-plank with traditional masonry, glass curtain walls,
description cold formed metal roof trusses, attic window freezes and all interiors. The parking
structure is an open pre-cast spandrel system with a concrete frame. 11-month
construction schedule.
10. sheraton hotel and parking garage

300-car, two-level, below-grade precast parking garage and 240-room precast
hotel. The garage houses the main electrical room for the garage and hotel as
well as a large holding tank for the hotel sprinkler system. The first garage level
is set on grade, and the second level precast double tee. The foundations for the
garage perimeter is conventional spread footings. The central garage area supports
the hotel with a six-foot thick concrete mat, which was constructed in a single
continuous pour. The garage features open air ventilation and is fully sprinklered.

The Sheraton Hotel is set between Terminals A and B of Bradley International
Airport. Clear communication and intricate coordination among team members,
as well as with the contractor for Terminal A, the FAA and the Aeronautics Division
of the Connecticut DOT, was crucial to ensure the success of these concurrent
construction projects.

Renovation of a 110,000 sf, 2-story parking garage. Scope of work included removal
of the composite concrete slabs over metal deck, and replacement with new
description G-90 galvanized metal decking and concrete slabs that included admixtures to
strengthen and enhance durability. Existing steel was cleaned and blasted, and
repainted with special Tnemac coating.
