Bucky, whom we saw get killed on the first
movie but will return as a super assassin on
its sequel. Or, maybe not. There is actually

2. Steve Rogers and
Bucky Barnes: BFF
Steve Rogers is the skinniest soldier while
Bucky Barnes used to be a mascot. They are
really good together, isn’t it? The two met at
U.S. Army Camp Lehigh in Virginia and
befriended. They are fellow soldiers and Bucky
became the sidekick to Captain America. In
1945, during the war, Bucky failed to defuse a
bomb onboard a plane.
Assumed Dead, But
Not
Bucky is assumed dead, but he was actually
tossed into the freezing waters of the North
Atlantic and preserved in suspended animation.
General Vasily Karpov and the crew of a
Russian patrol submarine find Bucky's cold-
preserved body sans one arm. Bucky is revived
in Moscow, but suffers brain damage with
amnesia as a result of the explosion.
The New Bucky
Barnes
Scientists attach a bionic arm on his body,
upgrading it as technology improves.
Interestingly, though he’s suffering brain
damage, his tactical knowledge has been
enhanced and he can speak several languages,
including Russian. The Russians were feeling
disappointed that this American soldier doesn’t
have the Super Soldier Formula, which was
given to Captain America, they decided to put
him back into stasis until they could find a use
for an American soldier.
3. The Winter Soldier
The Russian’s Special Section Department X
decided to continue work on Bucky’s body,
having stolen the schematics for an advanced
cybernetic arm. Attaching it, it signaled the
beginning of the Russian’s Winter Soldier
project, which would transform Bucky into a
weapon to use against their enemies. He was
brainwashed and made loyal to Russia. He was
given the code name “Winter Soldier” and sent
on covert wetworks missions, like missions
involving assassination, becoming increasingly
ruthless and efficient as he kills in the name of
the state.
The Winter Soldier
and The Black
Widow
The Winter Soldier had a brief relationship with
The Black Widow. It can’t be verified if this is a
romantic relationship. According to Marvel.com,
When Natasha Romanova became part of Black
Widow Program, a team of elite female sleeper
agents, the Winter Soldier are one of the
instructors. In the Comic-Con 2013, it was
revealed by the cast the Captain America and
Black Widow will develop something intimate
friendship which involves some smooching at
some point.
The Winter Soldier
and The Wolverine

laboratory and later murdered Itsu
(Wolverine's wife), seemingly killing their
unborn son Daken who survived the attack
after being cut from his mother's womb.
4. Steve Rogers and
Buck Barnes
Reunion
The Winter Soldier killed the notorious Red
Skull and Nomad. He launched an attack and
charged the Comic Cube. His existence was
discovered by Steve Rogers through uncovered
Intel, causing him to yearn for a reunion with
his old friend from another life.
Captain America tracks down and confronts the
Winter Soldier. Upon gaining control of the
Cube, he tells the Soldier, "Remember who you
are". Regaining his memories, Bucky becomes
overwhelmed by guilt over his past actions,
The Winter Soldier
as The New Captain
America
When the Superhuman Registration Act was
passed, S.H.I.E.L.D's Nick Fury recruited Bucky
for covert operations, so as to protect Captain
America from government forces. In the
aftermath of the seeming death of Steve Rogers,
Barnes became the new Captain America.
Rogers survived, but upon his return, he gave
Barnes his blessings to continue as Captain
America on the Avengers while he accepted a
federal role as an administrator managing
super-heroes. (Source: Marvel.com)
